We all already know that 800cc Engine feels a bit lethargic when car is loaded and AC is on, been the Price of Alto K10 starts at Rs 3.31 Lakh for Lx Model, as against Alto 800 Lx at Rs 2.85 Lakh (not considering Standard Model as its without AC).
The Price Gap is low at just Rs 46000 and Maruti Suzuki will continue with Alto K10, based on New Generation with Improved Rigidity, Structure and BS-6 Ready 1 Litre K Series Engine. Infact, the brand image of Alto is so strong that Maruti will not consider in any way to just finish the branding.

The Existing 800 cc Engine will continue to remain on sale till March 2020, post which New Gen Alto would be sold only in 1 Litre K Series Engine with Improved Features, Styling and Safety Rigidity in Indian Market
So - Alto yes going to remain in Indian Market for a longer time, and no where getting discontinued in 2019 or 2020
