What is the process of claim settlement especially in Cashless car insurance policy. Is it only applicable to dealer Authorized Workshops or car can be repaired at my preferred workshop

Hello Anish,

Are you trying to ask hows the claim settled in cashless policy, well -

- If the Vehicle meets an accident with the other car involving major repairs - one need to get FIR Lodged for bodily damaged and how has accident happened. Also, if the registration number of the other vehicle is noted - it has to be shared in FIR
- A CLaim Intimation need to be done to Insurance company for Towing the vehicle (if needed) else car to be taken to nearby workshop (after intimation to Insurance company)
- After the claim intimation, the workshop gives an estimate of the repair cost of the bill (one need to hand over copy of RC, DL, Policy)
- Insurance company surveyor physically inspects the car (if damage is to extent of Rs. 5000 or more) and basis the policy taken (comprehensive, zero dep, zero dep+consumable) views the claim amount
- The Surveyor then approves the claim amount in complete or partial or even rejects as per there policy basis the incident
- Once the claim amount sanctioned - the workshop informs the customer of amount getting sanctioned and ask to continue repairing the car, if insured consents to pay off the balance tentative amount
- Balance amount left (Actual Bills - Claim Amount Sanctioned) is to be borne by customer post delivery time.

For your second query
Insurance company has an arrangement with company authorized workshops and there preferred workshops - a list can be obtained from there call center through mail. To avail the cashless facility - the car should be repaired at the authorized workshop as listed by Insurance company.
