Hi,

I sold my UP, Ghaziabad registration car last year to a customer in Ghaziabad. When he first went to RTO for transfer they said the Photo and Signature is mis matched. I checked with the dealer and they said they provided the correct details to RTO. When he went back again RTO is saying that the documents of the Car is lost. The Buyer is after my life. My question is:
1. How can the car be now transferred?
2. I have an Affidavit that I have sold the car to the buyer in 100 Rs stamp paper. In case the car is not transferred what kind of challenges can I face?

Thanks,

Sudeep

Hello,

If the documents are lost :- Primarily RC & Insurance - the you need to first get in Duplicate RC Issued and

» Original RC Copy Book needs to be submitted - As it seems that RC Book is lost :- Duplicate Smart Card Process
Duplicate RC is generally issued within 2 to 3 weeks from the submission of documents

Once Duplicate RC Issued then duplicate RC can be submitted with :-
» RTO Form Number 29, 30 are considered Sale Transfer Forms. This needs to be signed by both Seller and Buyer with 2 Copies required. You can again sign in these forms

» Vehicle Chassis Number Imprint - can be done by buyer

> Your ID & Address Proof - give a copy once again to seller

> Notarized Copy of Insurance, Pollution Certificate copy - Ask buyer to submit

» Notarized Copies of PAN Card of Buyer or Form 60,61 - Ask buyer to submit

It will help in transferring car to buyer name.
