hello this is Dr Raj here.went through the blog and did find it very useful specially your information regarding cng kits.

I am planning for new honda city and just wanted to ask whether I can fit cng kit into it and whether it will be harmful for the car. if I did so what impact it will have on the warranty.. as long as the reduction in the pickup and power by 20% is concern it's not going to affect me too much as I am not a enthusiast.

please help me taking a right decision. Thanks you

Installation of CNG will lead to warranty getting Void

Though - CNG Kit was offered as an option in Honda City in 2012 end from Manufacturer Side. The Suspension of the car was tweaked along with separate wiring been used - so that dealers can do retro fitment at there end. However - the same last for mere 15 months

Sequential CNG Kits from Brands like Tomasetto, Lovato, BRC are Italian Brands known internationally for compatibility in most of the vehicles. Been Sequential - they have separate injectors and optimize for Air-Fuel mixture. In terms of Performance though has 15% drop in Power Levels - which does not look significant considering Power Output - but still CNG is not Factory Fitted in any of mid sedan cars except Ciaz

a) Apart from Power Drop - Can lead to slight lag due to gear ratios also been impacted. Leads to lower performance output
b) Eats Up Boot Space - with just 50% Boot Space left.
c) In Past - Honda workshops have denied Servicing CNG Fitted Cars citing aftermarket CNG Fitment as cause. Error like - Check Engine Light, Excess Smoke, Halts at lower speed etc were pertinent to CNG Fitment issues.

Installing CNG -
a) Genuine Sequential Kit
b) Installation Finesse
c) Computerized Tuning
d) Scheduled Checkup every 10000 Kms
all matters for a smooth Experience.

But - in a brand new car - Considering you spending more than 10 Lakh Rs on vehicle - having relative lower Power Output due to CNG, slight lag, boot space as good as a hatchback with doing such fitment would lead to warranty been void is not recommended. It would rather be better to choose in a Diesel Car.
