Hello Amrita ji,

Sure. As you selling car to dealer in exchange you need to get in
a. Signed RTO Form 29 with dealer stamp and vehicle details
b. Signed RTO Form 30 with dealer stamp and vehicle details mentioned in it
c. Delivery Receipt of Old Car (as confirmation of handover to car at dealer end)
d. Exchange Coupon specifying Old Car Transaction value as they adjusting against New Car
e. Letter Undertaking to Insurance company that you sold your old car to dealer and intend to transfer NCB to new car

Add Note: As generally when policy NCB is transferred policy is cancelled by Insurance company
So if exchanging old car - you need to specify to Insurance company to hold in 3rd party policy in it, and only cancel OD part and transfer NCB to it

This along with copy of RC, Insurance when sent to Insurance company - will enable NCB Certificate issuance
Additionally - to make things easier - recommended to opt New POlicy from same insurance company with whom your last policy was going in.

For RC Transfer :- Dealer delivery receipt along with exchange coupon are what they will hand you over specifying that
> Old car original RC, Insurance, Keys etc been taken over by them
> All risk, responsibilities will be there only from date, time from which they take over car
> Also cancel in Fastag by putting a request with requisite Issuer

Additionally you need to speak to dealer used car manager and follow up with him on periodic basis on RC Transfer - as they will be selling car ahead which can take anywhere from 2 months to 3 months.

Should help !!
