Dear Satyen Sahab,

See - as you referred in priority (quoting in descending order)
a. Safety Standards - 5 Star Build along with active and passive safety features
b. Cost of Ownership in terms of Mileage, After Sales
c. Reliability in terms of Peace of Mind Ownership
d. Stability at higher speed been 2/3rd of usage on Highway

in defined budget of 15 Lakh for a Manual Transmission SUV
I suggest to make your father test drive and experience in Volkswagen Taigun Highline Manual which ticks the need perfectly

Reason for recommending VW Taigun Highline
a. 5 STar Build Quality - proven with very high NCAP Score in terms of structural capability of the car
b. Loaded with Front Airbags, ESP, ABS, EBD, Front Fog Lights, Anti Roll Over Protection

which ensure a decent safety for driver

b. From cost of ownership - VW Taigun engine was tuned to deliver in even superior mileage.
Although OEM Claims 19.87 Kmpl - but can confirm you that for maximum highway usage - if maintain speed of 85 to 90 Kmph can witness in close to 17 to 18 kmpl in real world condition - which is decent

From after sales - VW has localized parts in India and now offer competitive service cost
However from peace of mind perspective - recommended to be slight flexible by opting for 4 yr VW Service Value pack - which cost in Rs 30K approx and include all perodic service including labor. Other than it - 4 yr warranty comes as standard with car - which if wish can extend to 6 yrs too (ofcourse with additional payment and can be done at later stage too)

Lastly - VW has improvised in service standards in recent times and in last 2 yrs - most of the initial niggles been sorted too, except minor one like - some rattles there and aircon still feel a bit nosier. But trust they wont be deal breaker

c. From Highway usage - Handling, Steering feedback, Suspension along with 16 Inch Wheel - all ensure stable ride experience
You wont have complaints. Plus to make things better offers - Cruise, Camera, LED Headlights with good brightness in night drive.

The kind of experience with stability as can be felt with VW Taigun Highline is second to none.

Suggest to make your father experience this car - am sure will love in plus easy ingress, egress too.

Okay, sir what about compact SUV like creta, brezza, Honda Elevate, Nexon, XUV 300, grand vitara, Kia.
If I consider second option other than vw taigun then which will be better choice among them

Pls find

1. Hyundai Creta, Seltos - not recommended as you specified Safety as priority
Am not saying these cars are not safe - but somehow scored 3 star in NCAP rating and with proven cars in build like Taigun, Kushaq, XUV300, Nexon - cant be recommended

2. Elevate, Astor - has one among lowest mileage in Mid SUV Segment - hence not recommended

3. Nexon, XUV300 - When you can get a bigger 4.2m car in form of Kushaq / Taigun with better highway dynamics - makes sense to upgrade for a better buy

4. Brezza - Grand Vitara is better pick for need

5. Grand Vitara - Can surely be considered basis suspension, handling, peace of mind ownership and fuel efficiency
But for highway use - VW Taigun has an edge in terms of
> Safety in form of impeccable Build Quality
> Even better calibrated steering for higher speed
> Even better tuned suspension for highway dynamics

So overall: If you have Safety as first preference followed by Cost of Ownership with major usage in Highway - VW Taigun Highline followed by Maruti Grand Vitara Delta.

Sir, one more query that there is no vw show room / service station in my city. It's 60 km away in gurgaon. For Every car service I have to go to gurgaon. Many videos I heard that these German car sales is less and going to close in next 5 years in this case what difficulty to their old customers

Well - other than 1st year having minor service
VW has service interval of 1 yr / 15000 Kms - whichever earlier

60 Kms although slight far but still is not too far to go once a year for service
Anyhow if you have apprehensions of VW Future - can check out Maruti Grand Vitara as alternative good product offering
> Peace of mind ownership
> Fuel Efficiency
> Reliability at its best
> Yes the best Maruti Suzuki range of cars we have in Indian Car Market in terms of build, suspension

Should help !!
