Greetings !!

Engine
MG Hector Plus Petrol Automatic comes in 1.5 Litre Turbo Petrol Engine in CVT Automatic gearbox
This 1.5 Litre is inhouse developed by MG Motors India and used to come earlier in DCT - but shifted since last 2 yrs in CVT which is a highly reliable CVT Gearbox

Been Turbo charged Engine - one need to adjust in best practices in terms of
> Idling for 20 sec when you start first time in morning
> Idling for 20 to 30 sec when you stop car after long distance high speed drive

Rest is a reliable engine and nothing significant in terms of engine-transmission issues are as reported in.

Ownership
In terms of MG Ownership - MG Motors India offering shield plans
> Classic Plans covering scheduled servicing
> Platinum Plan covering wear & tear

Recommended to opt for 5 yr Warranty Plan with classic shield plan to have peace of mind ownership in terms of all scheduled services and protect car against manufacturing defect.

Service Wise - MG Offers decent experience to owners

MG Hector Plus
This is the same car as MG Hector which is convenient to drive, light steering, good all round visibility
Suspension is on comfort side, however 3 major disadvantages
a. 3rd row space has very limited under thigh support and legroom - best only for kids and that too for short distance
b. Expect near single digit Mileage
c. This large Touchscreen is slight slow to process in voice command

rest a great all round pick
Having said same - performance is accpetable but on real world - Seltos DCT, Kushaq 1.5 Turbo, XUV700 all feels more quicker in acceleration as against Hector CVT

Charm of Hector is in
> 2nd Row Space
> Road Presence as bigger Car
> Comfortable Ride
> Best when driven in with relaxed foot

Mileage: Depending on traffic - have reasonable expectation of 8 to 10 kmpl in City use, while on highway can expect in around 13 Kmpl.

Hope should help in with requisite info !!

See car are mechanical in nature
You cant rule out issues in few cars across brands, but been fact that 99.99% goes in precision - very few cars reported same but in general can confirm that MG in terms of road worthiness makes reliable cars.

They selling now like close to 60,000 cars on annualised basis and in last 4.5 yrs sold nearly 2 Lakh Cars - on a larger scale if a owner
> do not modify electricals in form of accessories
> goes in for periodic timely servicing
> follow in best driving practices

will get in niggle free ownership. Having said same - still Extended Warranty thing acts like mediclaim insurance to car - so recommended to take and MG Classic Shield plan covers all scheduled service cost at competitve price by locking in prices - can consider same.

There are different AMC Plans from 3 yrs to 5 yrs - you can get details from nearest MG Showroom.
