Hello,

I have Honda Jazz CAR 1.2 VX 2017 model. It has completed more than 125000 kms. Now iam experiencing some problems in front shocker and heaviness in clutch. Sometimes I feel like selling this and taking new car but after driving my car my mind gets diverted. There is no loan on car and for taking new car I will have to take loan. What should I do?

It's taking around 80000 rupees for changing front shocker and clutch repairing from honda authorized service center. Should I get it repaired or should plan to sell and take new car. Please let me know.

Hello Nikhil Sahab,

Rs 80,000 is just too much as quoted by Honda
Is it only front shockers or entire suspension having shockers, lower arms. Whats the condition of steering - any play in steering as steering rod can also be included.

For clutch - i presume it to be entire clutch plate assembly including flywheel
Also Honda do not do repairs - they replace

Suggest to visit in Bosch Authorized service center or any professional independent repair shop as chances of failing flywheel remains low
Just for basic-
1. Do you feel any vibrations in clutch pedal
2. Do you feel any any issue in gear slotting

If no then flywheel wont be required and for other clutch work including pressure plate and release bearing - it shouldnt cost more than Rs 7000.

For suspension:- Have to check on what exact is the issue. If only shockers then can be replaced for Rs 6500 to 7000 from TRW - a very renowned company in spare parts. For other suspension work - shouldnt cost more than 20K in after-market

I suggest to get car inspected in after-market at a professional store - chances are that can get car near back in fraction of price at Rs 25,000 to 30,000 at best including labor

Hope should help.

Hello Gagan sir.. Iam big fan of your videos and happy that you answered my query. I want to tell that I don't feel any vibrations in clutch but feel a bit of hardness in gear shifting. Service center people told me that clutch is feeling bit tight and hard. In front shocker bit of sounds are coming and service center people are telling that it has to be replaced. I'm new in city and on enquiring I got many gomechanic service centers. Should I get my car inspected there. Please answer my queries sir.

Hi,

Stifness in gear shift relates to clutch issue only
Suggest to get in clutch plate assembly replacement only (without flywheel), lubrication and top up transmission oil
For shockers - if only noise coming can even just be causes by rubber bushes which can be replaced aftermarket in fraction of price.
Only in case of leaking shockers or major wear & tear can get shockers replace and also get front suspension checked for any major wear & tear on lower arm /; link rod

If steering is okay to manoeuvre then dont get steering joints touched.
Getting this from a pro mechanic outside shouldnt cost you much depending on what exact is the issue

For service center - instead of opting for chain like gomechanic - find a workshop which is reliable and has credentials operating for long
Bosch network is good, check out for local garages basis reviews / proximity and get it from someone whos in trade for many years and has expertise in clutch and suspension related work.

Hope should help !!
