Dear Sathiyan,
Greetings !!
Sure as i understood you are facing issues in 12 yr old Polo.
First of all - Honda Amaze is a considerable different choice as against VW Polo
a) Its a car which is best when driven in relaxed way with light foot
b) Secondly from Handling dynamics - Suspension is on soft side so dont expect the kind of handling dynamics you felt in VW Polo
c) Car although scored 4 star in Global NCAP (its the African version) - but if you compare the build quality of erstwhile Polo as used in comparison to Amaze - somehow Amaze build looks mediocre
Do note that in no way stating Amaze as bad choice, its all about making a right choice by having expectation correct
1. If sheet metal quality feels medicore - its not that Amaze is not a safe car. Lot of engineering and crumple zone with safety specs decide and Amaze is definitely a safe car but if you ask for sturdiness nowhere close to build as what you experienced in Polo
2. Because of Soft Suspension and Steering feedback - high speed handling dynamics no where match in to the experience as what you felt in Polo
So have expectation correct - if upgrade reason is
a) Spacious Family car with much better rear seat comfort
b) Ease of Drive
c) Majorly City Use
then go ahead for Amaze
In terms of making a choice in 2024 Vs Buying a Car Now
Well - too early to comment but its a new gen Amaze and likely will get in
a) Suspension tweaks
b) Improved Safety Features
c) Design cues from Honda Elevate
d) Sunroof and other enhancements
but by the time Honda will price cars much higher too. Next price hike coming in June and we anticipate many more hikes including near Festive season, early 2024 and then new gen car
So you may have to decide on if flexible to retain existing model for a year and ready to shelve off 70K to 1 Lakh higher price for updated car then yes can consider a wait, else go ahead with existing one
Hope should help !!
