Hi,

My budget is 20 lakhs maximum (on road price)

I'm a new driver and do not like to use clutch, so I prefer Automatic or IMT.
I live in Bangalore city, so most of the use is in heavy traffic. Family of 4 and looking for a compact Suv.

I need a car for atleast 10 years, without any tension with the transmission and engine also I need all the new features.

I've shortlisted a few cars. Please check and let me know which one is the best option for me.

1. Skoda kushaq style, 1.0 Automatic ( 2022 model, getting 1.5 lakh offer) comes under budget.
2. Mg Astor sharp (2023 model offer of 1.3 lakh) comes under budget.
3. Hundai Creta SX Ivt. No offer .
4. Seltos htx IVT. No offer.

Please suggest a good car or I should look for any other options.

Please revert back to me as soon as possible, I'm planning to buy soon.

Thanks & Regards,
Avinash C

Dear Avinash ji,

Hi. Greetings !!
As specified the core requirement with
a) Near Maximum usage in city conditions of Bangalore in Bumper to Bumper Traffic
b) Seating Comfort for 4
c) Hassle Free, Peace of mind ownership

Let me tell you some pointers which will assist in

1. Try to avoid in Turbo Charged Petrol Engine. Though they are fun in mid range, but at low speed some lag definite felt
In terms of Skoda Kushaq - a great all rounder with superb mid range and impressive high speed steering feedback
but at low speed some lag is there
Let me disclaim that this lag is beautifully masked to an extent in Automatic transmission (as otherwise felt in Manual) - but at times felt at sub 1500 rpm and with stiffer suspension - this is not the best buy for traffic conditions as specified.

2. MG Astor - although a great buy in terms of features, interiors but when it comes to
a) Fuel Efficiency
b) Comfort

Not the best. Mileage actually is on the lowest side in across Mid SUV Segment Petrol cars and in traffic conditions as specified -
Secondly - not as comfort oriented as what felt in sibling MG Hector or if in similar segment as Hyundai Creta

3. Coming to Seltos & Creta - pick is Creta IVT with solo reason
a) Suspension which feels more comfort oriented in city use as against stiffer one in Seltos
b) Rear Seat Comfort with head support is superior with better under-thigh support as against Seltos

Seltos feels more stable and fun on highway, but if its city use - Creta is the default pick

Good Part is that Creta is now upgraded with additional safety specs in Creta Sx IVT with 6 Airbags, All 4 Disc Brakes and from usage as specified with
a) Bumper to Bumper use
b) Comfort
c) Reliability
d) Peace of mind ownership
e) Very refined engine and Hyundai scores very high on reliability aspect of engine, transmission.,

a great all round buy. For having peace of mind - i suggest to Extend Warranty to 7 yr option which is one of the longest one as available, although may found cost steep at Rs 50K but highly recommended to cover any mechanical parts

Rest Hyundai service experience is at par with the best and can expect superior ownership experience too.
Thats the best buy basis need as specified, may check.

Hi Sir,

Thank you so much for your advice, the Hundai dealership called me and said they can give me a discount of 20k, if I go with a non RDE model, which was manufactured in 2023 Jan but it is not in compliance with new BS6 regulations.

It's immediate delivery, should I go with it?

The new one has a waiting period of 2 to 3 months

Not at all recommended, unless you considering Sx Option IVT
Reason - Sx IVT got an upgrade in terms of additional safety specs and this does make a difference when spending a moolah of 20 Lakh

However, if hes ready to offer Sx Option IVT at 20K Discount (other than Insurance discount - which you can check and compare) and is
> MY 2023 Model
> Price applicable before hike as was in early Jan for BS6 Ph1 Model which was Rs 17.07 Lakh (as against 17.47 Lakh as of now)

Details - Creta Upgrade

then can definitely consider that, but for Sx IVT - strongly recommended to opt for new BS6 ph2 compliant model only,

Hope should help !!

Hi,

Is Creta IVT SX (o) worth the upgrade from Creta IVT SX ? The difference is 1.6 lakh , in the optional varient I'm getting fully digital meters, diamond cut alloy wheels, ventilated seats and bose speakers. All this is missing in the SX varient.

Hi, would you suggest an upgrade to Creta IVT SX (O), the optional varient is 1.5 lakhs more SX varient, but it has fully digital meter, ventilated seats, bose speakers, diamond cut alloys, electric seats. All these are missing in the SX varient.

Do let me know if this is a good upgrade, the final quote is 22.4 lakhs for SX (o) and Sx is 21 lakhs

Hi,

Can you pls recheck the price aspect.
Creta Sx Option IVT Price in Bangalore should be 21.4 Lakh on road

If you factor zero dep engine and engine protect - this will jack premium by 10K max to 21.5 Lakh on road
Extended warranty is something which can be taken at later stage too.

With respect to extentsion to Sx Option - spending 1.5 Lakh more will deliver in
a) Even superior infotainment experience with Bose speaker
b) Cooled Ventilated seats are real wonder during summers and monsoon
c) Those diamond cut alloys makes a difference in styling aspect
d) Powered Driver seat adds a convenience angle
e) Rest Air purifier, leatherette seats, ECM Rear View mirror adds on experience level

Pls note above are not something which adds to safety or must but are lifestyle related experience.
So if wish to add on above to enrich in lifestyle experience with these features and budget not an issue then consider these, else Sx IVT is good to go.

I'll check the price again with them, one last question before I book the car, is this the best automatic I can get for 22 lakhs?
Is there any other car where I can get a full top end model for this price.
