Sir, i hope you must have checked on Arun Pawar viral video on Sunroof problem in Mahindra Scorpio N. I have booked this car and social media is flooded with problems, pls guide on should i buy this car or not and what are actual problems with this car
1 year ago
Dear Vikas ji,

Let us understand and admit that Mahindra as OEM now making
a) 5 Star Safety Rated cars with immaculate build, safety
b) Suspension dynamics are near best in segment, gone are days of excessive body roll as used to get in previous Scorpio
c) Road Presence of Car especially in Black color makes it a beast on the road
d) Performance oriented punchy Petrol Engine and powerful Diesel engine with lot of choices in Manual, Automatic, 4x2 and 4x4 - you have a wide range with modern age features all loaded in car

But at the same time
a) Reliability is still not the benchmark
b) Some niggles, issues may appear
c) Cabin insulation feels very medicore - insulation feels medicore at high speed or on bad roads
d) 3rd Row turns a joke. No option to slide 2nd row ahead, Limited legroom and small boot space are downside

Coming to niggles, problems in Scorpio N
1. Arun Pawar, Youtuber faced yes issue in Sunroof. Although the issue was exaggerated beyond a point to create a YT hype but bottom line remains that there was definitely an issue with Electric Sunroof mechanism functionality

2. Some customer faced in steering Noise and Vibration Problem which as per them appeared even after replacing same
Few customer reported breakdown in within month or so, attached screenshot of sample

and list can go ahead with many more customer issues too

Important: Cars are made with high precision
Mahindra sold in near 40,000 models of Scorpio N - there can be issue in few 100s of them which although is higher but many customer reported that issues are resolved too and addressed by Mahindra service center

With near 99.5%+ customer having good time - 1 customer if facing issue in every 200 cars sold is too less a percentage and that too is been taken by OEM Service team to address in.

I suggest to take it ahead if ready to buy, issues may happen but yes will also be addressed by Mahindra after sales service team.
But yes if seeking reliability and peace of mind like as seen in Maruti, Hyundai, Honda or Toyota - i truely feel that Mahindra needs a lot to revamp to reach to that level

Hope should help !!
