Hi sir,

I booked a 1.0 Style AT Anniversary edition Kushaq. The dealer confirmed that the car is Sep 2022 manufacture. However when the invoicing is done today, I see that it is from March 2022. VIN MEXKPCPA4NG018236
The dealer is giving a discount of 1.75 Lakh on this model. On road without tax is coming to 16.30L.

Need advise on whether I shall go ahead with the registration or cancel the order.
Is there any challenge in buying Mar22 model?
If the dealer can't arrange another 2022 model, is it prudent to go with 2023 model or ask for a return of the bank loan?

Thanks and regards,
Thank you sir for your advice.
The dealer is giving a discount of Rs.2L and in addition has confirmed to change all the 4 tyres and oils in the car before delivery.

Dear Anajit ji,

Hi. Greetings !!
3 Important things :-

1. Did dealer offered you 1.75 Lakh Discount citing September'22 model and at time of invoicing you came to know that its March'22 make ?
If yes - for any reason if you feel like going ahead with this model - dont miss to negotiate in to make deal better to beyond 2 Lakh
If theres alternate car as arranged having Sep'22 or later model - that would pe perfect

2. Its a 1 year Old Model, and although Kushaq Anniversary edition prices not changed - but important is to closely inspect car as if car remained standstill for a year - chances could be that
> Tyre got in flat spot
> Moisture in Aircon
> Battery life could be impacted
> Car Lubricants especially engine oil molecules tends to break over period of time - a car remained for 1 year in standstill should get in Oil Replacement
> Possibility of Rust on brakes too

3. There were rampant issues in Skoda earlier batch cars including
> Aircon effectiveness
> Brake Noise
> Rattles
> EPC Issue - which although was resolved in 2021 end

Aircon issue was resolved in post August 2022 batch cars as no more issues heard

My Point
1.75 Lakh is a handsome discount on the car.
Cars are Mechanical and even though was parked for a year - but when bought on road after proper servicing should turn all right
I mean look at COVID time - many cars were parked for months long and some owners dint drove for even 6 to 7 months too at stretch, but when bought back on roads after lubrication and servicing doing good.

Although 1 year is slight higher in this case of Kushaq but
> if close inspection done on tyres, battery, Aircon part to rule out any issues
> If dealer committ you to service car with engine oil & Oil filter replaced in pre hand
> Fact that tyres, battery are wear & tear items and carry own warranty
and top of all if you are able to negotiate in discount to tune of Rs 2 Lakh on this model (dealer showroom has high margins on Insurance and generally rack rate is quoted in price list) and Style is top end model) with 4 yr Service pack

I suggest to go ahead with this car as extra discount can be taken as buffer if needed to replace in Tyres, Battery
Infact - i suggest to connect with local tyre store and make a deal to replace tyres with new lot tyres of 2023 on exchange basis - this may cost you max Rs 10K as outflow for set of 4 tyres

and even if battery like fail within 3 to 4 yrs - this would at max entail outflow of rs 4500 to 5000 too.
So extra discount if taken can buffer the unwarranted cost aspect

If the dealer can't arrange another 2022 model, is it prudent to go with 2023 model or ask for a return of the bank loan?

Is the loan Disbursed ? If yes - there would be
> Loan cancellation charge
> Non Refundable Processing Fees
> Interest charges from date of disbursement to date of credit to bank (dealer showroom dont do immediate return unless hard pressed them)

whos going to bear same ?
Prudent to consider existing model but at higher discount negotiation to close the deal.
