I am interested in purchasing a Maruti Suzuki IGNIS Sigma variant in Lucknow.

The dealer is offering an on-road price of 590,000 for a January 23 manufacturing date car, while they also have 2022 in-stock vehicles available for 565,000 on road. I am unsure which option would be the better deal. Additionally, I have heard that the IGNIS recently received an engine update and is now compliant with the BS6 second phase norm.

Would it be advisable to wait for the updated version?
Finally, I am wondering if the IGNIS Sigma would be a good choice for me or if there are better alternatives available.
Also is this the best price or can it be discounted further . If so, could you suggest a few options?

Dear Imran,

Hi. Greetings !!
Maruti Ignis yes got BS6 Ph2 Compliant Petrol Engine as upgrade and indeed gets
> ESP
> Hill Hold Assist as standard

But the price hike is substantial to tune of Rs 27000 and if you plan to go ahead with it - the car will eventually cost in Rs 60,000 more than the deal you have for MY 2022 Stock

For reference
> Deal you have is 5.6 Lakh for MY 2022 Ignis
> Deal is Rs 5.9 Lakh for MY 2023 BS6 ph1

and with increased prices for BS6 Ph2 and even limited offers at beginning the car will eventually end up to be near around 6.25 to 6.35 Lakh
Although ESP is something which can act as differentiator and in BS6 Ph2 Engine refinement is even better - but spending Rs 60,000 higher for same is like too much. You can even get in Ignis Delta MY 2022 stock if unsold at dealer counter.

Pls note that
> There is no change in structural strength
> Ignis BS6 Phase 1 engine is pretty refined in itself and can get work done
> There is no change in mileage as of now claimed by OEM with similar 20.89 Kmpl in both ph1 and ph2

Only for Hill Assist and ESP and some fine tune up refinement for BS6 ph2 - 60,000 would be too much a difference Ignis Sigma
If Car Ownership horizon going to be 5 yrs or more - i suggest to take deal of MY 2022 one (provided car is not more than 6 months old) as superior value proposition experience.

In terms of Deal per se for Prices in Lucknow - 5.65 Lakh is an excellent deal

Alternative: See alternative are basis need
If your majority of drive going to be in local use then basis
> More comfort oriented drive
> Even Light Steering

Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Era is a great value pick.

However if you seek Ground clearance as factor then although Tata Punch is an excellent option but without any discounts Punch Pure base model will be like 1 Lakh higher from Ignis Sigma

So - it has to be Ignis Sigma MY 2022 or if not into fact of too much Ground clearance part then Grand i10 Nios Era is a great value pick
Hope should help !!

Sir,

My name is Anup Kulkarni. Living and working in Pune (state: Maharashtra) city. I am 40 years old. Married. I have a 9 year old daughter. Working in a software company. Currently I have a Hyundai Santro xing car. 12 years ago I purchased it as a second hand car from my relative. Now the car is 17+ years old and it is in good condition and maintained. I will still use it for myself.

Last year my wife learned how to drive. She is 34 years old. Working in a software company. Now she used to go to her office by Santro. Her office is 5-6 km away from home.

Now she wants a new car for herself. Her main expectation from new car are as follows:

The car should be easy to manoeuvre within the city.
The car should be small in size.
The car should have a lower turning radius.
The car should be easy to park.
The car should be an automatic.
The car should have a decent music system.
The car steering feedback should be light.
The car should have a rich feeling from inside.
The car should have a good aesthetic look from outside.

Will go for the top end or second top end variant of that car.

Budget: 9 (+-) lakhs on road Pune city.

(Not mandatory but will be preferable If the road has a stiff slope (hilly areas like) and the supposed car stopped then she will drive ahead with less effort/skills. (Mostly the new learners faced some difficulties)

Till now, for the last 10 years, we have mostly been running Santro max 1000 KM per month only. So there is a high chance that the new car will also run less than 1000 KM per month.

Sir, please suggest a better CAR for her.

Regards,
Anup

Recently I got the Maruti Nexa Ignis Sigma 2022 variant. I've heard and while going through the spec online it shows it got hill assists features. Like to know whether for hill assistant any specific button is given or automatically it will activate hill assistant while climbing hills. Please confirm.

Thanks and Regards
