Hi,

Congrats for Honda Amaze !!
There are no marking lights on gear lever of Amaze CVT, but is shown in MID on mode as selected :- p/R/N/D/L mode is all shown in MID

S CVT is entry variant with basic music system, At the price point at which this sedan in proper Automatic Transmission is offered is ok
All the best !!

Hi,

Hyundai Venue DCT has a definite turbo lag under 2000 rpm.
I suggest to have her test drive, for city use - Venue is good if buying in IMT which is like having no manual clutch pedal but only need to upshift or downshift gears manually

Also Venue IMT has creep mode which can assist on driving in bumpet to bumper traffic as like an Automatic car - apply and release brake and car will creep in to 7 kmph speed.

Renault After sales is not promising and thats a fact, continually OEM scored very low in JD Power CSI Index .

Hi Mohan ji,

I understand that you increased budget substantially - but the way car prices jacked up in recent past - choices are still limited from proper Automatic Transmission

> Renault Kiger RXZ Turbo CVT - At around 11.5 Lakh on road
> Hyundai Venue S Option DCT - At around 12 Lakh on road
> Maruti Brezza Zxi Vxi Automatic - At 12 Lakh On road
> Kia Sonet HTX DCT - At 12.5 Lakh on road
> Hyundai I20 N Line N8 DCT - At 13 Lakh on road
> Maruti Ciaz Alpha Automatic - At 13 Lakh on road
> Hyundai Verna Sx IVT - At 13.5 Lakh on road

Unfortunately no Mid SUV comes
Now of these if you seek majority of usage to be in local one then pls note that

1. DCT as used in Hyundai & Kia has definite turbo lag under 2000 rpm and although these cars are fair fun - but not the best on controlled speed drive.

2. Brezza Vxi Automatic feels significant overpriced in the car way car pitched and priced at and neither infotainment is great experience.

That leaves to just 3 models

> Renault Kiger - I suggest to test drive as this car has surprise element of
a) Acceptable Power delivery in day to day use
b) Well Stocked with Features
c) Good SUspension and steering is acceptable (better than Magnite)

Only con is Renault after sales service experience

> Ciaz and Verna - If you consider all the way spending to 13 Lakh then do check out for Verna Sx IVT feels relative much better over Ciaz outdated 4 Speed Automatic in handling, drive and marginal more exciting to drive. You get more features, more stylish car and definite a decent pick for day to day usage.

Price you may have to negotiate at dealer end to make it more competitive.

Only con is Build which is not proven in recent lots of Hyundai & Kia Cars.

Overall by increasing budget to 13 Lakh or so: Renault Kiger Top End CVT or Hyundai Verna Sx IVT is top pick
Hope should help !!

Hi Mohan ji,

If you considering to stick to budget then as specified Honda Amaze S CVT is a decent pick sans features for city drive
> Suspension is soft for comfort
> Low Turning Radius with pretty light electric steering
> Very smooth CVT Transmission with pretty refined engine
> 4 Star Safety Rated Car from Honda Cars India
> Well Spacious and looks good from social perspective
> For convenience has height adjustable driver seat and has all essentials All 4 Power Window, Remote Lock, Electric ORVM, Parking Senso

You may fit Rear view camera as accessory from Honda dealer.
Sound Quality from infotainment is acceptable and on better side, but yes its not a touchscreen and no Android Auto, Apple car play

Else - for solo usage Hyundai Grand i10 Nios Asta AMT Top End Model which (its not Automatic - but Automated Manual Transmission, where no manual clutch pedal is there and loosely called Automatic as gear can be slot in drive mode and can enjoy a feel like in Automatic cars)

> Despite of AMT is near best in AMT Cars with very well calibrated AMT unit (although minor pause effect or shall say jerks are there on gear change but its minimal and at times can feel like driving a Torque converter automatic)
> Comfort Oriented Suspension
> Light Steering with easy to drive, fair reliable
> For convenience gets - Push Button Ignition, Rear View Camera, Wireless Mobile Phone Charging, Rear Wash & Wiper, Toucscreen with live navigation in Android Auto and also yes has Arkamys sound system for better sound clarity

Have a test drive - am sure if ready to forego slight jerks/pause effect of AMT - then is a great and excellent pick

Dear Mohan ji,

Hi Greetings !!
Considering usage where maximum one as specified is in city and local one with
> Decent Infotainment
> Sound System

and if slight flexible for budget then
Hyundai Sportz IVt petrol - cost Rs 9.75 Lakh On Road Price in Gujarat is excellent choice for owners having maximum in city usage
> CVT is pretty smooth
> Refined 4 Cylinder Petrol Engine
> 8 Inch Multimedia AVN with Wireless Android Auto and Apple Car Play with Voice Command and Iblue Remote Application with Steering Mount Control having decent sound clarity
> Very Reliable Car and Stylish too with upmarket interiors and exteriors

and yes I20 sales is highest among female car buyers in India, this car Rear View Camera, Parking Sensor, Height Adjustable Driver Seat for adjusting seating comfort and convenience. Also has TPMS, Cooled Glove Box for enhanced convenience

But what wont like is the fact that this car has
> Mediocre Build Quality
So, pls consider a Great choice if controlled speed drive is the criteria for local usage

Else if seek better safety rating aspect and not ready to cross budget then look out for Honda Amaze S CVT - where although you have to forego on features but excellent pick where majority of usage going to be in
> City use
> Light Steering
> Easy Pickup
> Has all basic essentials as what needed in a car

Infotainment sound quality is acceptable, but its a 2 Din System. Rear View camera can be added as accessory
Yes this car also has height adjustable driver seat.

Recommendation is:- to check out
> Hyundai I20 Sportz IVT as first pick, followed next is
> Honda Amaze S CVT - if dont wish to cross budget

Be Assured that CVT is the best transmission for smooth response and 4 cylinder petrol engine is refined with sufficient power for local use.
