Hi,
MG Astor definite looks impressive basis
> Upmarket Interiors
> Price Point with almost like fully loaded features in
MG Astor Smart CVT
> Stylish Grille
> Road Presence
> Comfort oriented drive
But there are 3 major issues with this car
1. Mileage - somehow where fuel prices setting records, MG Astor in Mid SUV Segment delivers surprisingly lowest mileage in comparison to cars like Creta, Seltos, Kushaq, Taigun to considerable extent.
In comparison Creta IVT is more fuel efficient
2. Rear Seat - Now, one of the reason why people upgrade from compact SUV to mid SUV is better rear seat space. Astor Smart CVT On road price touchces close to 17 Lakh, but rear seat under-thigh support and legroom space feels like mediocre
In Comparison Hyundai Creta rear seat feels more comfy with superior neck rest
3. Overall Handling and Power Performance - Although CVT is smooth but
> Initial Response of car
> Steering Feedback
is just feel like average performance. 110 PS Power and 144 NM Torque doesnt bring any excitement.
Hyundai Creta too is not fun to drive, but the refinement levels and power delivery feels marginally better
Also for Future Upkeep - While Hyundai has knack of reliability Nothing much known about MG. they have there presence for mere 3 yrs in Indian Market. MG Astor is recent launched product. For peace of mind ownership - well Hyundai leads again
What you wont like in Creta
Creta scored 3 Star, MG Zs EV scored 5 star in Euro NCAP and although Astor based not Zs, but Astor crash test not available
cant comment if some structural or build changes done by MG to bring Astor in India.
My recommendation
If you love seating comfort, more space, more engine refinement with superior pick up with a car offering
> Superior Proven Reliability experience
> More Fuel Efficiency
then is Hyundai Creta has an edge
However, if dont seek compromise on build but gives higher focus on
> More Upmarket Interiors
> More Features in lesser price
then is MG Astor Smart CVT for your need.
