Dear Vijay ji,
Hi. Greetings
As majority of usage going to be on city roads - is there any specific reason why you considering cars with raised ground clearance
Reason
1. Suspension is on stiff note on both Ignis and Punch so as to contain body roll
2. Ignis future is bleak basis the way sales happening of this model, sales is in sub 5000 units despite of been pitched on high sales segment
3. Punch is a great choice in build, but basis pickup performance, 3 cylinder engine vibration noise levels and slight AMT Jerkiness - not the best pick if maximum usage in local city use.
If you have majority of usage going to be in city roads
a) Grand i10 Nios Sportz AMT - 7.39 Lakh exshowroom
b) Maruti Swift Vxi or Zxi AMT - 7.32 Lakh (Vxi) / 8 Lakh (Zxi)
would actually end up as superior pick for need
Both cars suspension is better tuned for local use, Nios AMT has one among best calibrated AMT Response and 4 cylinder engine is refined
Swift AMT leads in superior handling character and even is more fuel efficient than Ignis with better design layout. Adding on reliability, proven resale is another plus point
Still if you have specific reason of buying car with raised ground clearance
Although Maruti Ignis feels
a) More Refined in 4 cylinder petrol engine
b) AMT response feels slight quicker and car actually feels quicker in engine responsiveness and AMT calibration
c) Superior after sales service experience
d) Steering feels relative light on low speed as against Punch where kind of heaviness on steering is there
e) cabin feel better insulated as against Punch
But - Punch Adventure Rhythm AMT has its own reasons :-
a) Impeccable Build Quality
b) Even superior cabin space management with better ingress and egress in Punch
c) More Stylish with superior road presence
d) As you going to experience car few times on Village roads - Punch suspension is more SUV'ish and adds superior handling
So depending on priorities - may consider, but Punch AMT definite feels more mature and stable product as against Ignis in capabilities perspective of car.
Hope should help !!
