Dear Amit ji,

Hi. Greetings !!

R16 195/55 Tyres would be much better upgrade over stock tyres if
> Requirement is of high speed stability
> Additional Width for Grip
> As both height and width increasing - ou will find some weight added to steering too for additional firmness from handling perspective
> Even car ground clearance will increase marginally

and if seek just for unmatched high speed handling, ride - opt for R16 205/50 tyres as
> Extra rubber, width adds on lot more stability, grip
> As the focus in this size would be just the extra width by not altering - height, cicumference and sidewall you wont find any difference in handling and

See attached pics for deviation

Kind note that any upsize will take away suspension warranty of car
If you seek good grip, comfort - R16 205/50 Tyre from Michelin would be like ideal for need and Michelin PS4 Pilot Sport 4 would be best one for need - cost around Rs 35,000 fro set of 4 tyres

Downside would be lesser life as they are low profile one.
Hope should help !!

Hi

1. R16 205/50 is recommended which will offer in both grip and comfort

2. Suspension consists of lower arm, link rod, bushes, steering rack - kind note that suspension wont be impacted by upsize as only tyre width is increasing and rest other parameters as height, circumference changing with deviation at just .17% which is miniscule and wint impact

from OEM side - as per Manufacturer terms - any modification or alteration which is not approved by manufacturer can impact warranty

Hi Gaganji

Now in Mumbai no dealer had 4 tyres of 205/50 only 195/55 is available ,also dealers tell me that low profil tyres like 205/50 won't suffice in Mumbai potholes, ( this rains roads r mess again:o ) pls suggest if 195/55 could be picked dealer may offer some discounts as well!!

Hi. As i gone through your post

R16 195/55 although can be done if requirement is high speed dynamics
It can lead to
> speedometer error
> slight more firmness in steering

But ideal size is R16 205/50 which can add superior grip, stability, handling on higher speed without much a impact to steering in city use
Yes as its low profile tyre - as referred earlier expect limited life to it especially if driven on potholes.

Having said same - if you have major usage within Mumbai - i really dont think should consider an upsize as stock tyre size in Honda city is what designed to be ideal for city use and good highway roads.

City 5th Gen Suspension too is on soft note.
What exactly is the issue you facing in present set up ? can you elaborate

Thanks Gagan ji

The issue i m facing is that the Bridgestone tyres don't inspire that grip or confidence while on wet roads or even while cornering the car so thought I will upgrade as lot many suggestions on team bjp that stock tyre is underwhelming for the size of the car

As such no major problem but i had installed Michelin xm 2 in my old amaze and they were in different league altogether.. that's why the confusion.. my driving is 70 percent city Mumbai and 30 percent highways

I can get same size Michelin ie 185/55 R16 XM 2 + INSTALLED IF U SUGGEST

Hi,

See OEM do thoriugh R&D and decide on a tyre size which is what ideal basis combination of multiple factors including
> Comfort
> Fuel Efficiency
> Steering feedl Feedback
> Combination of in City Usage & Highway
> Consumer Usage of car per se
> Suspension Dynamics of car

While, for some who has specific need like drive
> too often on highway or
> seek extra grip for handling or
> slight extra ground clearance
may go for upsize but it will always come at cost of fuel efficiency or some other compromise too

For some who has majority of usage going to be in city - its not prudent to consider upsize as to make a base on stock tyre size itself.
But if you finding grip to be losen or seek better feedback on wet roads - instead of R16 195/55 - pls consider R16 205/50 Michelin PS4 as Michelin Pilot Sport 4 tyres are different league altogether known for best feedback on wet roads, grip

If specified tyre size is not available - may check in nearby cities or inquire with Michelin directly or to wait till time stock is available.

Hope should help !!
