Kia Sonet or Volkswagen Taigun

Indeed Taigun is spacious, has better handling and suspension not as stiff as Sonet
But as specified earlier - you need to identify priorities

If rear seat Comfort is a deal breaker - then Taigun at any given day as biggest con of Sonet is rear seat.
Else spending 2 Lakh higher on Taigun looks like overpriced based on fact that Kia Performance is decent too, much more features, lower ownership cost

In terms of Kia Reliability and Service - been part of Hyundai at Global level - expect same level of technology and reliability as used in Kia as in Hyundai. In terms of Service - Kia offering 5 yr service package with alignment and balancing for rs 25000 approx - you can opt for same to lockin service cost.

I just wanted to add few more points.
I am planning to buy car for long term usage, like 10years or so. Also during test drive i found Taigun is having more comfort and stability from inside and feels more premium as it's seats and build quality is anyday better. But obviously little old school. Is kia apt for long term usage?

Greetings !!
First come first - there is substantial difference in between Kia Sonet and VW Taigun as Taigun scores ahead in
a) Space aspect on rear seat with lot better legroom space where Sonet feels compact
b) Feels even quicker in Mid range as against Sonet
c) Suspension is even more sorted as against slight stiffer note (although Sonet will rate as Mature suspension too, but Taigun has more mature setup)
d) Steering feel and feedback of Sonet is good, but Taigun is even better

Sonet on other hand is
a) IMT in Turbo Petrol Engine where no manual clutch pedal and thus is convenient. Taigun has long travel in clutch and feels stiffer at times
b) Higher up Features in lesser price - you get Push Ignition, Auto Climate Control, Highline TPMS, Better Infotainment sound clarity, Sunroof and more styling bits in interiors as against Taigun C/L and all this at price which is almost 2 lakh lesser than Taigun C/L (on road delhi as consideration)
c) Not as noisier in Engine and AC as what Taigun felt
d) Expect Long term scheduled service cost of Sonet to be relative lower as against Taigun and yes more fuel efficient too

Although Sonet scored 3 star in safety crash test, but now model spruced up with additional safety
VW India raised localisation to highest level - somehow there were concern reported by owners on social media with respect to product quality but even product not been crash tested. Cant really vouch if new age VW is as safer as its yester year cars

Point is: If rear seat space is not a deal breaker then basis
a) Enhanced Convenience of drive
b) Relative lower NVH Levels in cars
c) Higher up features for superior ownership experience in lesser price
d) Lower Ownership Cost

and yes Taigun feels better in handling, pep - but demand 2 lakh premium for same is overjustified with fact that Sonet driving dynamics, engine performance on standalone basis is satisfactory too.

So our recommendation goes for Kia Sonet HTK Plus IMT provided rear seat space is not a deal breaker

With respect to Venue - we just did a walkaround
will soon experience same possibly in 1st week of july 2022 to experience if any changes done in driving dynamics or not.
