Dear My Car Helpline Team,

Before I share my query, let me congratulate and acknowledge the good work that you are doing in helping people identify the right car for them, I am really impressed with the details in which the guidance is provided to select the right car.

To begin with, I am a first time car buyer with a budget of around 8 to 10 lakhs ex-showroom price (have just recently learnt driving). The car will be purchased in name of company where I work and the company limit for purchase of car is INR 8 Lakhs (ex-showroom price) while I can also streach and add a further 2 to 3 lakhs to get a better car, taking the total budget to around 10 to 11 lakhs (ex showroom price).

The expected car features are safety, features loaded, spacious (5 people), fuel efficiency and average maintenance cost. The car will be used around 90% in city with a running of approx. 30 to 32 kms per day and once a month family outstation trip on highways. Since the car will be used for my daily commute from home to office and back in a city like Mumbai, I would prefer an automatic and if possible a genuine automatic unless there is no option and then have to stick with AMT.

I have done my research and test driven the following cars:

1. Tata Nexon - XZA+ - AMT (Ex-showroom price 10.64 Lakhs)
While I liked the car in term of the overall package it offers be it safety, features, comfort, space, etc the only issue that is bothering me is AMT transmission, Fuel Efficiency, Engine refinement (3 cylinders) and the Rear look of the car.

2. Kia Sonet - HTX - DCT (Ex-showroom price 11.09 Lakhs)
The car is really good in terms of features, engine refinement and automatic transmission however I am not so comfortable with the Built quality of car, internal space (not for 5 people) and think it is on the expensive side.

3. Hyundai Venue - SX Plus - DCT (Ex-showroom price 11.70 Lakhs)
There is also a lower variant S(O) however this variant is very basis and misses on important features and therefore the only practical variant is SX Plus, which i believe is a bit expensive and also considering that the face lift is around the corner. Do you know when the facelift is expected to launch ?

4. Maruti Brezza - Zxi plus (ex-showroom 11.18 Lakhs), S-cross - Zeta (ex-showroom 11.19 Lakhs) and Ciaz - Zeta (ex-showroom 11.19 Lakhs) - Automatic Transmission
These cars offer genuine automatic however their face lift versions are due (old interiors and features) and also the 4 speed automatic will not be future proof considering what the competition is offering. Do you know when the Brezza and S-cross facelift is expected to launch ? Also there is news on 6 speed AT, do you know when the same will be made available ?

5. Honda Amaze - VX - CVT (Ex-showroom 9.20 Lakhs)
While amaze is the most economical genuine automatic available under 9.50 lakhs however the car interiors are outdated and the features do not match up to the offerings by competition. Also, not really confident of the capability of car when it comes to full capacity driving on highways.

Request you to please advice on the above mentioned cars and also on any other cars that I can consider based on your experience that will match my requirements and budget.

Also, since I am not getting good automatic car options in my price budget, does it make sense to increase the budget and go for cars in the higher segment line Astor, City, Slavia, or any other car ? If yes, which cars and variants I can consider ? If not, should I buy what I get in my limit (8 lakhs ex-showroom) even if it is an AMT (Example: I20 IVT, New Baleno AMT, etc.) ? If yes, which cars and variant I can consider ?

My timeline was to get the car before Mar or Apr 2022 so if the face lift variant of Brezza, Scross and Venue is due to launch before this should I wait for these or go with the ones available in the current market ?

Request your guidance on the above illustrated confusion. If possible we can speak over a call and discuss.
