Hello Mycarhelpline team,

I need your help regarding the booking I made for Tata nexon from one of the showroom in Bangalore. I was told that there would be a waiting period of 71 days to which I was ok and the booking was done on Nov 22 2021.

On Dec 25 2021 I was informed that my car has been allotted and it would take about 8-10 days to reach the stockyard. I was surprised to be receiving the car lot earlier and proceeded further with the loan approval process from my end with my HDFC bank. In one week's time my loan was ready and called up the dealer to check the status of the car on 1 Jan 2022. The sales advisor responded that he's busy and would call me back.

When I followed up again on 3 Jan 2022 on not receiving any response from him, I came to know that the allotted car has been sold out citing the reason that I paid only 11000 as booking amount. At the time of booking only I made it clear that as soon as I do the satisfactory PDI of the vehicle, I would make the full payment. I feel disappointed now and not sure how to proceed further as sales advisor asked me to wait for another 1-1/2 month to get a delivery of 2022 model. My loan is already approved from HDFC bank and I'm not sure how long the bank would hold the sanctioned loan. The other point that I don't trust from their side is that 2022 model production would start only after 15 Jan 2022 and that is why I have to wait for another 1-1/2 month.

Please advise me.

Thank you,
Ajith

Dear Ajith,

Yes Nexon do comes with high waiting period ranging from 2 to 3 months

It looks like that dealer might have got a cancellation due to any reason:- any existing customer who got a booking may have loan rejected or rejected car due to any reason.

Dealer might be like having ready stock and been year change was happening - they picked a customer who may have ready cash or ready to make immediate payment as its like if a stock remains unsold in year change - it impact not only dealer incentive but possibly higher discount too to clear off.

What Next: Ofcourse it feels like failing customer service on dealer side. Suggest to write email to Tata Motors customer care and dealer showroom too explaining
> They made a committment during year end for car delivery which was shared by yourself in family and friends
> You basis dealer showroom committment submitted papers in bank for loan sanction and loan approved
> At the last moment - dealer showroom failed to deliver in committment by stating they sold car to some other customer - impacting your emotions

Do refer that it impact the feel which otherwise was there of association with Tata Motors, and now seek earliest delivery in January

For Loan: Its like that your loan is sanctioned., Well nothing to worry about as loan is always 2 stage process
a) Pre Sanction
b) Post Sanction

Pre Sanction is valid for 30 days, and on expiry Bank again do re-verification check.
You can request bank to hold in papers till end of January as by that time will be cleared on car delivery and once delivery statuis

Also for 2022 Make
2022 Manufacturing and stamping only happens from 1st January - so essentially to reach car from plant to dealer stockyard it will take minimum 1 week to reach dealer stockyard in most of cities. Dealer version is correct

Also batch allocation happens - so if car dispatched by say 3rd jan - expect to reach stockyard by 9th or 10th Jan and car delivery to happen by 15th January.

Hope should help !!

Hi Team,

I also booked the tata nexon in month of Oct 2021 and in mid dec I got the allocation of the vehicle. But the VIN (chasis) of the model is of July 2021.
What should I do? I checked the oredr history of dealer and they got the vehicle on 30 dec itself in their stockyard from Tata pune plant

Hello Mycarhelpline team,

What I want to know further how should I proceed further with the payment considering that dealer can say that for PDI an amount to be paid. In that case how much should be paid? Insurance I do not wish to buy from in-house. In this case how should I proceed further b'coz at the time of registration process I need to produce the insurance documents as well?

Waiting for the response.

Thank you
Ajith

Dear Ajith ji,

Hi, For PDI no amount needs to be paid
Its like that dealer has an allocation of vehicle and he shows your car, and if okay customer makes balance payment

Recommended Payment Process
1. Booking Amount
2. Now When Dealer confirms that car is in stock or dispatched and ready to share VIN Chassis number - you can rease balance payment of exshowroom price - loan amount. So for example Tata Nexon XZ plus cost in 9.99 Lakh exshowroom, and you availing loan of rs 8 Lakh and initial booking amount paid is of Rs 15K then can make Rs 1.85 Lakh payment to dealer - theres no harm
3. When car arrives at counter - can do PDI and if PDI is okay
4. Can sign in loan disbursement papers and release in registration amount to dealer showroom
5. Simultaneously get Insurance work done and take delivery in next 1 to 2 days as you wish in

Insurance
1. You can connect with Insurance companies for initial quote and shortlist basis coverage, service network and premium
2. Once PDI Done and to satisfaction, on same day share in wth Insurance company
a) Vehicle Details with Model Variant, City where vehicle to be registered
b) Car Engine number - chassis number as observed during PDI
c) Vehicle details - Model Variant, color, exshowroom price
d) Loan Details - Financier details
e) Your personal details
f) Policy Inception date

Insurance company will capture same and share you final proposal for review
You can check on covers and then can make payment - post which Insurance company may issue instant policy

You can then handover Policy to Dealer for completion of Registration Formailty.

Hope should help !!

Hello MyCarhelpline team,

Thank you for the support so far. I got an update from the dealer that there is 2021 model though I don't know the month, which I have to see on the day of PDI due next week. Dealer insisting to generate the invoice before the PDI on the reason that there could a raise in road tax of Karnataka after 15 Jan 2022. I was not keen to close the payment before the PDI and in two minds. After much deliberation I said to wait till the PDI. Is it true that RTO tax in Karnataka would be increased.

Looking forward to the response.

Thank you,
Ajith

Dear Ajith Sahab,

We really cant comment on if road tax can be increased unless a notification is released by state government
Till then all are rumors

Also, when BH - Bharat Series number plate is available - it makes all sense to consider in BH Series, if salaried
You can compare in road tax on
> Bharat Series Road Tax Calculator
> Road Tax in Karnataka

Hope should help !!

Hi Its Jan 2022 Made
Dealer cant tamper in VIN Nuber in any way as same is mapped to Tata Motors Database and every car gets unique combination of engine-chassis number.

Hope should help !!

@Gagan ji, if someone gets BH plate from other state and brings it to bangalore, won't it cause issues ?
Karnataka government may ask to re-register or some issues can be there, right ?
