Hello sir/ma’am,

We’re planning on buying Hyundai Alcazar prestige 7 str diesel automatic variant. We have really liked the car and I have taken quotations from few dealerships in my home state Maharashtra as well as Gujarat because RTO tax in Gujarat is way less than Maharashtra. I have a few questions
1- Is Alcazar a good car to buy in this price range? We’re buying a car after 20 years so it’s very important decision for us.
2- Since we’re buying from different state and registering it in that state, what legalities should I be worried about when I drive it back to home state ?
3.- If there is other option you would recommend then what will it be ? We want a 7 seater car but not above 22L on road.
4- what kind of difficulties will I face if I go ahead with buying it from different state ? Is it worth it to go ahead with this plan of buying from another state ? Money wise the price difference is 1.7lakh but I need your professional opinion on this.

Dear Abhishek ji,

Hi, hope doing great

Some Pointers before you consider Hyundai Alcazar

1. See if you buying car after 20 years - ofcourse will be delighted with host of features, luxury like experience, panoramic sunroof, powerful diesel engine with convenience of drive in Automatic TRansmission

2. Secondly, if considering Alcazar Platinum Diesel AT - should think of Top of Line Signature as price difference is just Rs 25K on road but you will get on add on of :- Front Parking Sensor, Front Ventilated Seat, Wireless charger on 2nd Row along - where Ventilated seats makes a lot of difference for front seat passengers

Now coming to 7 Seater Choice
Alcazar although yes backed with
> Lifestyle Features
> One among most refined diesel Engine
> Hyundai Reliability
> Fit and Finish
> Fully Loaded Active and Passive Safety

but to view is a compact 7 seater car which to view is poorly designed in terms of cabin space as
> 3rd row has very limited legroom space - meant for small kids
> 2nd Row has limited legroom space (as against Creta in comparison) and thus limited space on 2nd row felt
> Shoulder room space is limited

So if you seek a 7 Seater Automatic and seek comfort of passengers which to view is limited in Alcazar - i wont really recommend for Alcazar
Suggest to rather check out
> Mahindra XUV700 Ax7 Diesel Automatic - long waii
> Tata Safari XZA Automatic by increasing budget a bit
> Toyota INnova Crysta Gx Diesel Automatic

ALthough these cars may not have as refined engine as in Alcazar and neither the fully loaded lifestyle features but certainly to view offers
> Superior In cabin Seating Space
> More Powerful Engines
> Better Build Quality
> Bigger Car Feel

and to view are better value proposition against Alcazar Platinum Automatic
Suggest to test drive and experience.

Hope should help !!

Please give your suggestion regarding buying from another state to save on road tax since it’s a big difference. We already have all documents related to buying like address proof etc. So if I get it registered there and bring the car to my home state I.e Maharashtra, will that cause troubles on the govt. officals end or on the end of Hyundai service center.
Please advice.

Dear Sir,

If we go as per law then Section 47 of Motor Vehicle act states that a car kept for more than 12 months need re-registration with a new registration mark of that state and thus applicable road tax needs to be paid

Pls note that as resident of a state - the kind of tax revenue as what gets through
> State GST
> Road Tax Revenue

is a substantial amount and is a loss to state ex-chequer if customer buys from other state
Thus - Traffic police team is quiet vigilant in states like Maharashtra and Karnataka having high tax zone to

Having said same, if you still decide to buy car from other state and use in different state pls note that
> Warranty will remain intact and other state dealer will service car
> Warranty Parts will be honored PAN India

Essentially you wont face any issue in car servicing and upkeep aspect

Hope should help !!
