Dear Gagan/Team -
I am based in New Delhi and looking to buy a car for around 10-12.5 Lacs (at max, on road Delhi).
Quick Background: I have been driving (Manual) Optra 1.6 Elite Petrol for more than 7 years (bought second hand). So, this would be my first new car experience. Currently I am very satisfied with Optra but since it will be completing 15 years (this December) therefore i have to change.
My requirements:
Family of 4 people
12,000 KM annual run (50% City 50% Highway)
Good insulation with Stable car on road (because of Optra experience, it's still way better even today along with good cabin space).
Since i have been driving sedan from long time, so wanted go with crossover/Suv type with good road presence
Wanted to switch over to automatic now because of Delhi traffic, earlier i was planning for Kushaq Ambition AT but its going out of budget (4 lacs extra) so i dropped that.
Shortlisted cars so far:
Nexon XZA+ (i have taken a text drive, i am ok with AMT transmission but worried about rattling sound which started coming after some time as per feedback from others and i have also experienced the same while taking test drive, kindly suggest?) - In my opinion Nexon fulfills all my requirements except only 2 years warranty and cabin insulation. I have also driven around a 300 KM Nexon manual (around 6 months old car, back in 2019, that time i did not experience any rattling sound etc.) on mathura highway and it was quite satisfying and that is why i have decided to go with Nexon but now after hearing the rattling sound issues, i am confused.
WRV Vx I am happy to go with this but only downside is no automatic and no back headrest
Jazz Vx CVT Same reason for Headrest and is it ok to go for Jazz and skip Nexon? Can we fit the back headrest aftermarket? I think Nexon will be more stable on highways, your thoughts?
Questions:
Kindly suggest the overall package to go with?
Since i have taken the text ride of nexon, i am getting a call from the dealer to Pay ₹5000 as booking amount (which would be 100% refundable if i change my plan, they will give it in writing) they said it has 10-12 weeks of waiting period. I will be booking tomorrow on Dussehra - Let me know if that is ok, or should I consult/negotiate anything else tomorrow while paying the booking amount? Or it should be done once my car will be dispatched from the Pune plan (they said it will take 5-7 days to reach) till then I can consider a Bank loan offer and they can also try to match the deal that I will get.Kindly also confirm for car loan should i directly walk in any nationalised bank and check with them the offers?
As this would be my first time buying a car experience, kindly also suggest if I can have a quick chat on call with Gagan and he can suggest what all other things i should take care of?
Apologies if I am asking too many obvious/silly questions but for me it's a whole new experience and I may need your hand holding step by step in order to buy my first new car.
Looking forward to your kind cooperation and support!
Best regards,
Unique Khurana
