A smaller engine 1.0 lit petrol turbo can generate high torque of 178 nm torque (as in Kushaq) whereas some engines of 1.5 lit (Maruti s-cross) generate lower range 138 nm torque. Does this mean 1.0 lit engine is overworked and hence more wear and tear of the engine in long run compared to 1.5 lit engine ? so when choosing a car based on Torque, HP, RPM etc how to decide based on engine specifications ?

There are 2 ways to design engine
1. Design a larger engine :- Higher Cubic Capacity means larger cylinder base and thus higher amount of air and fuel mixture can be burnt to produce higher power

2. Design with smaller engine but add turbo charger to it:- This is turning out to be more smarter where turbo charger added to create higher torquey performance and still lesser amount of fuel required due to small cubic capacity and thus are more fuel efficient

Depending on Manufacturer across globe - they design engine
Rather than quicker wear - its like this one need to adopt in best practices in terms of Turbo charged engine from drive perspective to have the best output.
