Please recommend options for buying a car based on below details:

My background:
I am based in Bangalore and have a family of 6 members (wife, 2 kids, parents). I am currently using a 2010 model Tata Indigo Manza petrol which is in excellent condition however, its a 5 seater (though back seat is big enough for 2 kids and 2 adults). Hence, I am considering an upgrade.

My requirement:
* A comfortable family vehicle with 6/7/8 seats in which I can cover long inter city distances
* Will prefer a safe and reliable vehicle
* I will prefer a vehicle which gives me good value for money spent
* I am open to buying new and certified used vehicles
* Convenient to drive in city as well
* My budget is flexible ranging from 10L to 19L (depending on which price I get best value)

Dear Ashish ji,

Greetings !!

Although the benchmark is Toyota Innova Crysta but the way prices increased of Innova - somehow even base model Gx (in private vehicle segment) now cost more than 22 Lakh on road in Bangalore

If you considering from New Car Perspective: Mahindra Marazzo M6 DIesel top of line will cost in 18 Lakh On road and this is a car which offers
> Superior In cabin seaing space (with wheelbase longer than Innova - you have good amount of space on 2nd and 3rd row)
> 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine is quiet impressive in performance, No Lag
> All Standard Safety, Styling, Conveneience features
> 4 Star Safety Rated Car
> 2nd Row with Captain seats for ensuring flexibility and comfort of Ingress, Egress

But - the issue is that Mahindra axed in M8 Model which was available earlier and despite of spending in 18 Lakh for M6 - somehow features like Android Auto is missing and prices feels lot higher

To view if you seek value - would rather be worth to check of Used Marazzo M8 Diesel 2019 Model - if can get in around Rs 11 Lakh to 11.5 Lakh in your city for a car with 25000 Kms on odo can be a great pick.

Some Other Cars
> Hyundai Alcazar : Even though Kids under 5 yrs may seat in now but couple of years down the line will find an issue. 3rd row is impractical with very compact rear seat legroom, poor under-thigh support. Not at all comfortable as family car on 3rd row.

> MG Hector Plus: Again important to note that 3rd row has poor under-thigh support.

> Tata Safari XM : A model higher up than base XE - will cost 20 Lakh PLus On road. Although a great car from Performance, Space, Build Quality but limited features in XM by spending in 20 Lakh is what a question. You wont experience value even after spending in 20 Lakh. If seek Safari - atleast consider for XT which may cost in 22 Lakh On road

If you seek from Value perspective - recommending 2 cars

Thanks Gagan ji for your reply.

What is the view about after sales service of Mahindra Marazzo (especially if I go for a used one) given that it may not be selling in large numbers. Are there any known niggles to be worried about. It does appear to be meeting my requirement for a pocket friendly and comfortable people mover.

Hi,

Marazzo is a new age product from Mahindra
1.5 Litre Diesel engine is pretty impressive for day to day usage with good impressive mid range
Mahindra after sales service is continually on improvement and expect customer service to respond and assist pro-actively

From Space, safety and a clear practical family car - can go ahead

Hello Sir
Thanks a lot for your inputs. We have narrowed down to a used Marazzo through a dealership however the previous owner has removed the seat belts in 2nd and 3rd row. Is this something that can be easily restored and roughly how much should it cost us.
