Dear Avinash ji,

Greetings !!

Yes - Tata Altroz is a great choice in terms of
> 5 star safety experience
> One of the most affordable feature loaded premium hatchback

and not only you, but most of the users are seriously thinking of retro fitting CNG Kit in car as Petrol prices are mounting at its highs

Why CNG not approved - there were some safety concerns stated by OEM due to changes done in BS6 Cars and retro fitting CNG did not followed on those safety aspect.

Its been close to 1.5 years since when BS6 Cars are on sale as standard, but talks are still on with
> Stakeholders as CNG Retro Fit center, CNG Kit Makers
> Government agencies

However, as per updates talks are in advanced stages and and as per prescribed changes as suggested including
> OBD2 Kit
> Safety Norms like safety switch, electronic valve on cylinder

along with necessary modifications may possibly make CNG Kit fitment in BS6 Cars a reality in 2022 or at best in 2023
Having said same, its important to understand that
> Tata Altroz is 3 cylinder car with almost 1035 Kg Kerb Weight
> With CNG added will the kerb weight be higher than 1100 Kg

Car Performance as of now is just average in Petrol and fact that
> CNG making car kerb weight higher
> performance dip by 15% on both Power and Torque

it will just degrade in Pickup of car to considerable extent. So if you buying this car sole for purpose so as to modify with retro fitted CNG - we have our reservations on performance aspect

Hope should help !!

Dear Team,

I am planning to buy Hyundai Grand i10 NIOS Magna 1.2 Kappa and planning to fit CNG Kit in it. However, i got the news from market that Govt hasn't approved to external fitting of CNG in BS-6 engine in Gujarat(A'bad). What should i do? should wait for govt's nod on approval?
