Hey Gagan,

Nice to email for one more query and this should be my deciding factor :)

We had good conversation in the month of may but I could not go for new vehicle due to some reason, now Iam planning one.

Atttached is payment receipt .

I currently own polo 1.5 TDI which completed 85000 kms . I am planning to change the car . I love driving polo . The way it handles and it picks up the speeds is awesome. Iam 100% satisfied but it's time to change :)

Here are my requirements
1.Performance
2. Handling
3. Interior build and fit and finish
4.Exterior build
5. Reliable

Can you please suggest car.

Thanks,
Sandeep

Hi

Sure happy to assist but somehow budget is not mentioned & requirement preference of Petrol or Diesel car is not specified (nor average monthy run)

Anyway - As i checked earlier budget was specified in range of 11 Lakh to 13 Lakh in HYderabad, if indeed you have same budget

See for a vehicle owner whos experienced Volkswagen and impressed with
> Performance
> Handling Dynamics

and need similar level - well cant go somewhere else.but still am recommending 2 cars for your need, requirement
1. Skoda Kushaq
2. Mahindra XUV300 (Diesel can be beast, but petrol too is reasonable good)

Starting with SKoda Kushaq
Let me start with downsides
> Clutch travel range is longer
> Marginal lag at lower end of stream
> Slight Noisier as felt

But, from
> 1 Litre TSI Engine Performance in mid range
> Steering Dynamics raising the bar in MId SUV Segment in Handling character
> Build Quality is decent with ESP as standard
> 4 year scheduled service pack available under Rs 25K
> 4 Year Warranty as standard + 4 yr RSA as standard
> Cabin Space where you will be amazed to see kind of rear seat legroom space in Kushaq

This car has lot of potential to be a great choice

Another one is Mahindra XUV300 W6 Petrol / Diesel
Downsides are
> Interior Aesthetics are pretty average
> Smaller Boot Space
> Slight Noisier with higher wind noise

But
> Performance is scintillating
> In Cabin Space Management is impressive
> 5 Star Safety Aspect with superior build
> Exterior Styling is impressive
> Initial niggles been resolved. Its been 30+ month for XUV300 and car is quiet reliable
> You might be surprised but Diesel XUV300 service cost are even lower against Petrol as engine oil replacement requirement is every 20K Kms as against Petrol one at 10K Kms - so for someone having long road trips on frequent will be impressed with it

Suggest to experience these as recommended buy !!

Hi Sandeep ji,

Despite of very competent car in performance, handling and sports diesel fully loaded with safety - a significant upgrade in terms of next generation is what need of hour. While Ford India looks like working on mild cosmetic upgrade due for launch in September / October with front grille and some cosmetic enhancements, which to my view will only provide low level exictement in upcoming festive season.

Do note that although there were media speculations on Ford India exit but nothing still been confirmed officially. Having said same
> Ford India sold in over 1.1 Million Cars in India and has huge potential in after sales
> Exports remains a primary market for Ford

So even if challenges come in terms of low sales - Ford may look to
> Sell 1 Manufacturing Plant (out of 2 plants)
> Curtail in Production

But Winding business does not look like possibility as of now.
Ecosport Diesel is a great car in itself, but
> Stiff Clutch
> Stiff Suspension
> Dated Interiors
> Permanent solution to that DPF Issue in ford cars (which i cant really recommend as of now been its mere a month since software upgrade been done from Ford side)

Hope should help !!

Hi,

1. Somehow Kushaq Automatic will be like upper end of budget, can cost in around 17 Lakh on road in Telangana

2. Vento Next Gen and Rapid Next Gen will be due for launch in early 2022 with different brand name like VW Virtus and Skoda Slavia but prices will further accentuate at that point of time - cant really be recommending those cars where launch date not clear. As of now estimates are in early 2022 - thats all

3. Honda City Diesel is spacious family car with lower running cost
But if you seek handling, performance - well not something will appreciate in

4. Yes - existing Automatic Trim in Skoda Rapid, VW Vento can be decent choice consideration
Infact Rapid Automatic feels slight more stylish to view and garners better demand in new car market.
If you seek Automatic Rapid Automatic can be a decent uprade and be considered over MT as what used in XUV300, Kushaq - convenience go hands on for superior experience.

Hope should help !!

Dear Sandeep ji,

Important is to not to explore all choices but rather the best choice

Have to shortlist on what you seek
> Sedan or SUV
> Manual or Automatic

Basis preferences as referred
Performance
Handling
build quality
Durability.

Have suggested cars
> If Automatic : Skoda Rapid Automatic is a great pick
> If Manual Diesel : Mahindra XUV300 Diesel
> If Manual Petrol : Skoda Kushaq or Mahindra XUV300 Petrol can be a decent consideration

Suggest to test drive and experience
Hope should help !!
