Dear Takhe Yapa,

Greetings !!

> Weather conditions are slight unpredictable there
> Road conditions are not good in Arunachal

Its important to buy a car which offers
> Good Grip on road with wider tyres
> Good Light Visibility
> ESP and Traction control to help
> Not Very stiff suspension so as to avoid in ride discomfort

Appending on factors of
> Space
> Safety Aspect

My recommendation to you is to check out in between
1. Skoda Kushaq Active Base Model
> Impressive Build Quality
> Electronic Stability Control as standard safety offered
> 16 Inch Wheels with R16 205/60 Tyres offers sufficient grip for stability
> Headlight yes are stock halogen bulbs. Either may upgrade to Osram night vision breaker or Philips Xtreme vision Plus
> Boot Space although on numbers may look average at 385 Litre, but be assured boot is deep to accommodate good luggage space
> In Cabin Seating Space has decent legroom, headroom and very comfortable for 4 members of family
> Suspension although on slight firm note, but not something a discomfort - will rate it as mature suspension to take on bad roads
> 4 Year Standard warranty as complimentray (extendable to 6 yr for Rs 30K) and 4 yr prepaid AMC Package available for Rs 23500 - ensuring reasonable cost of ownership

Although yes some negatives
> Clutch is deep - has longer travel range will find slight an effort on same
> Engine NVH would slight be vocal on idling and higher speed
> Lacks Rear Defogger which is slight an important feature to clean in fog on rear windshield

But be assured - a great value choice is Skoda Kushaq Active. Despite been base model - pretty well stocked in features list
May check out

2. Tata Nexon XZ Plus Petrol - See this product is what continually been improved by Tata Motors and now
> all initial niggles been resolved
> Car Engine Performance is reasonable good in city and very fun to drive in Sports Mode
> Proven 5 Star Build Quality with ESP as important differentiating element for ensuring safety
> Rear Seat Space is good for 2 adults (although ingress is not best for short passengers - so only choose if people sitting on rear do not have orthopaedic issue / are 5'5" or taller)
> Loaded with all essemtial life style features - Rear AC, Projectors, Touchscreen with Android Auto, Rear View Camera, Push Ignition, Alloys, Defogger

Some negatives
> Somehow visibility not great for first time users of nexon in cornering and rear one. So pls have hands on by taking a feel of car in initial days to experience
> Engine NVH levels, although much improved but still are on higher side
> Ingress and Egress not best for people with short height

Also, pl check on Tata after sales service feedback in your zone.

But - be assured
> Skoda Kushaq Active
> Tata Nexon XZ Plus

are best suited cars for need requirement as specificed
Suggest to have test drive and experience in.

Hope should help !!

Thank You for your valuable response. I Love Kushaq. Actually It was my first choice. But, no dealership.
And I love Tata Nexon too, but after sale service is not satisfactory.
My options were Ecosport, Nexon, XUV 300, Sonet. Little bit worried about Ford. Nexon after sale service , XUV 300 (boot and ground clearance) and Sonet is new.
Sir, is there any other options or should I wait for next year?
With Regards.

Hi Yapa Sahab,

After sales service is one among key criteria to shortlist a car
If Skoda still do not have a service center in your zone and Tata after sales service is a question - then its unfortunate for these manufacturers as they losing chunk of market out there in North East

In terms of
> Sonet : Although an excellent choice basis features, convenience with IMT Petrol, now HTX IMT available with ESP, most stylish car in segment and quiet performance driven with large 400 Litre boot space - but somehow rear seats space is compact and is definite like a squeeze in rear

> XUV300: Well only downside is limited boot space which is like smallest in Compact SUV Segment and possibly a deal breaker in your case as you specified that bigger boot is a criteria

> Ecosport: Somehow Fuel Efficiency in Ecosport Petrol is least in compact SUV Segment. That would be a challenging aspect in era when Petrol prices crossing more than Rs 100 a Litre. Also are some rumors on mainstream media put on Ford exit - which we cant really comment on as definite there are concerns due to low sales.

Anyhow - my recommendation
If you seek a long term buy and trust your driving skill and have family members whose height is 5'7" or lesser to sit on rear seat then Kia Sonet HTX IMT is a great choice.
> IMT Turbo is quiet fun with performance and convenience
> Very Stylish Car with rich lifestyle features
> Matured Suspension set up with quiet good grip, steering feedback
> Kia After sales service cost arequiet reasonable, can opt for 5 yr warranty (additional 2 yr with limited kms) and 5 year AMC Maintenance Pack - combined cost in Rs 40,000 all inclusive
> Although yes Seltos scored poorly in NCAP - but as referred safety comes from following speed limit and driver skill. With ESP, Traction control, Dual Airbags - car yes is loaded with essential safety aspect

However, if due to any reason you have family members who do not find themselves comfortable on rear then opt one in between Maruti Vitara Brezza Zxi Plus or Maruti S Cross Zeta
