Dear Gagan ji,

After lot of research, now finally time to take decision. Before that wanted to confirm from your side.

We are small family of 3 ppl including one kid. Max height is also only 5.6

I am confused between Brezza zxi, Ecosport titanium or venue Sx imt.

Mostly city drive. Very occasionally long drives as outing. I love to drive. Need safe and comfortable, smooth drive. I know Rapid would also be good pick but yearly service goes to 10k.

Brezza: is very good for drive, naturally aspirated engine. Also spacious, future CNG can be fitted (won't prefer though) but very bad interiors out dated. Also question comes why not SCross then.

Ecosport: comes with all safety kit active as well as passive. But petrol avg is not very good. Suspension also stiffer side for city. Shall I concider diesel option?

Venue SX: I am getting older model with alloys from dealers stock. hence thinking of this car. Engine is good, lower NVH, space is compact but for small family is Ok. Only safety rating brings question. One though comes why not i20 Asta 1.2. For venue dealer offering me insurance of 37k which I feel higher, how much is practical value.

Sonet HTK is now above 10, don't want to go with magnite

Which car shd I pick. If you have any other suggestions pls share that.

Regards,
Amod

Dear Amod Sahab,

Greetings !!

As i understand that
> Mostly City usage would be what your running will be
> Not tall members in family, yes has Fair height of 5'7"
> Comfortable, Smooth Drive

and yes reliability aspect with cost of ownership too as what required by owners
I truely feel Venue Sx IMT and that too older model with Alloy Wheels if available is a great value proposition and be grabbed in immediately with strong reasons in favor

What can expect in from Venue
1. IMT means driving a car without manual clutch pedal. You will love in convenience of drive on day to day city use by
> resting your left foot while on the go in city drive
> drive like an automatic car in bumper to bumper drive by slotting gear in 1st and apply and release brakes - yes this car has creep mode

2. Turbo Petrol Engine yes feels more responsive especially past mid range - whenever you wish to unleash can bring a smile on face in power delivery performance. Steering dynamics are pretty impressive and have rated it earlier better than Creta too.

3. Be assured of Hyundai reliability. Comes with segment lowest scheduled service cost as against competition cars

4. Opt in for 5 year warranty cost Rs 12500 and 4 year sheild of trust cost Rs 10000 which offers peace of mind ownership too.

6. Yes Venue is compact in space, but people with average height as 5'7" wont have anything to complain from legroom perspective. This car yes has good headroom

7. Relative more premium fit and finish, interior aesthetics as against Brezza and Ecosport. Adding on lifestyle features is what sought and cherish in experience

Having said same
1. Yes Suspension is slight on stiffer note but would be incorrect to call it problematic. This is done to offer superior high speed handling

2. Turbo Engines needs 30 second idling while driving first time in morning and whenever you halting from high speed drive while on the go on highway need 30 second halt before turning off ignition - this is done so as to prevent any premature wear & tear to Turbo and is best practice

Now in between Venue Sx and I20 Asta 1.2
Lot of difference,
I20 is for
> relaxed drive
> Space
> Possibly slight better fuel efficiency
> Lesser price point for value proposition

But Venue,
> i mean cant compare 1.0 Turbo GDI against 1.2. You will love in sheer mid range
> IMT against Manual Transmission
> Somehow high speed handling due to stiffened suspension and wider tyre offer superior grip, stability whenever you go on highway
> Steering feel feedback of Venue is a notch better

As a product Venue Sx IMT is pick against I20 Asta

Overall recommendation
Considering scenario and world where price hikes are there
Venue Sx IMT if getting at 9.99 Lakh with alloy wheels is a great pick and basis need requirement as specified should consider in over other cars.

Hope should help !!

Dear Gagan ji,

I have booked venue sx IMT with alloys. One of my friend advice me to try Honda City 4th Gen VMT.

I loved this car but only concern, it's longer than Venue and may creat trouble in city traffic. Anyhow Gurgaon is not that crowded.

Would you suggest me to change my mind and really concider Honda City or WRV .

How are these cars against venue. From engine refinement, smooth ride and after sales.

Regards,
Amod

Hi Amod ji,

See any given day Honda City 4th Gen to our view
> is more spacious
> Feels more refined in Engine Performance
> Looks more Upmarket to view

Its a myth to cosider that length will make it difficult to park. Dont go by parameters as length in mm, by that yes City is 400mm+ length but in feet is mere 1.5 Feet longer. Its as easy to park in as like any other car

However, point is whats preference
> Been 3 Member family where Kid will occupy rear seat - so rear seat wont make a difference
> IMT makes it fair ease and convenient car drive experience without any clutch pedal
> Turbo Petrol Engine has strong mid range
> To view Venue Steering feedback feels more responsive on higher speed
> Hyundai after sales service cost where City 4th Gen still has bi-annual service interval of 6 months
> Slight more lifestyle features as Electric Sunroof, more intutive touchscreen response and yes you getting car with Alloy Wheel design

My view - Hyundai Venue Sx IMT is better bet, specific to your case for superior ownership experience
Hope should help !!

Thank you Gagan Ji,

I have final question, if I am getting cash discount on car like 10k and additional 5k corporate. Does this amount is subtracted from ex showroom price or from total on road price.

Ie.

Ex showroom is X
Taxes and registration Y

Then discount to be applied on value X or value X+Y

Thanks in advance.

AMOD

Hi Amod ji,

Only in Telangana is this practice applicable where discounts are factored in exshowroom price and then is road tax applied on net price
However, rest in all other states / UT - road tax is applied on exshowroom price and discounts are not factored on to it.

Hope should help !!
