If your are interested in a sedan, The Skoda Rapid (especially Rider edition) is an absolute gem of a car with good ride and handling, superior 1 litre TSI engine, and enough legroom and kneeroom, both in front and back seat, Boot space is also generous, an excellent Value for money proposition.

if you are looking for SUV, Hyundai Creta E (base model) is an excellent proposition. otherwise the Ford Ecosport Titanium Diesel is also an excellent proposition

Dear Yedu,

Greetings !!

Lets use shortlisting technique to assist in best car for need

Good handling and I am enthusiastic driver.
Well there are few cars in sub 10 Lakh segment which offers good handling, performance
> Skoda Rapid / VW Vento
> Mahindra XUV300
> Ford Ecosport Diesel
> Tata Nexon
> Kia Sonet
> Volkswagen Polo TSI
> Hyundai Venue

You will appreciate in performance, drive, handling response of these cars

However when you add in next consideration
Good back seat comfort and suspension due back pain issues
Then many cars are out of context and only remains in
> Skoda Rapid / VW Vento
> Mahindra XUV300
> Ford Ecosport Diesel
> Tata Nexon

Do note that of above Ecosport has stiffer suspension
But seating comfort, under-thigh support, recline angle of seats along with ingress and egress is perfect
If you going to experience next car on highways, expressway, good city roads then will love Ecosport - else if have to drive on poor build roads then as suspension is stiffer - will find same experienced in cabin and not to offer comfort

Good boot space, as we travel a lot
Now when you add in this consideration, only 3 cars are left
> Skoda Rapid / VW Vento
> Ford Ecosport Diesel
> Tata Nexon

Budget - max 10 lac
Well will get in
> Skoda Rapid Rider Plus
> Ford Ecosport Trend Diesel
> Tata Nexon XZ Petrol

But, basis overall requirement as specified - indeed Skoda Rapid Rider Plus is best for need as specifed
You get large 460 Litre boot space
Adding on Skoda Rapid has best handling dynamics and suspension is not as firm as Nexon - its fairly sorted out
You get good amount of space on rear seat for 2 adults - ideally is a car for 4 adults

and yes will come in your budget
Overall Skoda Rapid Rider Plus is best buy for need as specified

Hope should help !!

Skoda Rapid will long for day-today city rides, especially in heavy traffic city like Bangalore. I like ecosport, but it's suspension stiff, so does it hit hard insiders? How about Ford Aspire top model? Does it satisfies my requirements?

Hi,

> Skoda Rapid clutch travel range is longer and yes if you going to do substantial drive in Bangalore like Traffic - Rapid Rider PLus Automatic will better suit in as against Manual Transmission

> If you cross on potholes with speed can definite feel a lot in cabin. Has to drive in real slow

> Ford Aspire Diesel : Yes - how could i miss it . This is a great choice for need as specified
if you choose in Aspire Titanium Diesel or PLus will love in handling, suspension, punch of Diesel Engine with performance. Highway dynamics offers excellent grip in R15 195 Tyres and a great car for city ride.

Issue: Somehow poor headlights, lack of projectors, quiet average interiors, no android auto even in top of line and way Ford increased prices without updating the model led towards a close dead end. Now sales are struggling with last 12 month sales combined put together of Aspire is less than 3500 Units

So essentially this car although meets in all requirements but if you ask in sedan segment across range of cars - this car features with lowest sales across compact & Mid sedan segment.

If such low sales and lack of features do not bother in then can consider in Aspire Diesel even

Hope should help !!

Hi,

Pls find update on cars as referred

For S Cross
As you specified on spine issues
Kind note that Maruti S Cross suspension is on stiffer note and when you experience the car, although
> Handling dynamics are good
> But this car wont deliver comfort oriented ride

and not the best to view basis spine issues as stiffer springs can indeed put more stress to it,
Infact if you considering S Cross - rather than same, check out Brezza for relative comfort oriented suspension (except the handling character of car which is not as good as S Cross)

For Honda WRV
Although Suspension is better
It meets all requirements except that is not a fun to drive car
Engine performance is linear and care to drive in relaxed way is a great pick
But - car handling character in terms of steering dynamics and performance factor is not on radar of enthusiast driver

Hope should help !!
