I need help in choosing between Nexon XZA+ and Toyota Urban Cruiser premium AT.

I want to buy an automatic and basically confused between AMT vs Torque Converter. Many says that features like hill hold is a gimmick as AMT cars can't have this technology.

Help me choose a better car between the two. I have more city runs and few weekend highway trips with family.

Dear Pradhan Sahab,

Greetings !!

Both Cars Nexon and Urban Cruiser are quiet different in the way these cars are what designed for.

Nexon XZA+
> A higher preference of Solid Build with 5 Star Safety Rating
> ESP makes a difference on emergency stuation
> Sports Mode is real fun to drive in Nexon, care for a car with superior pick up, strong mid range - will love Nexon
> Better Interior Aesthetics and Plastic Quality with Lifestyle Feature of Electric Sunroof. You feel like having a premium experience in Nexon with 3 Tone Interiors, class leading sound quality from Harman Music System, Sunroof
> Overall looks are more upmarket

Adding on Nexon AMT was having much higher jerk / pause effect of AMT at time when car was introduced in end 2018. However - that pause effect / jerks are much better controlled in BS6 State and car feels lot more better

But yes
> Engine Noise levels are still higher especially when cruising on higher speed
> Suspension dynamics not as comfort oriented as there in Urban Cruiser
> Tata After Sales Service still has far to reach towards Toyota Benchmark
> Visibility for In city dynamics not as good
> Bi-Annual Service Interval

Toyota Urban Cruiser Premium
> Its a car which can enjoy for day to day usage in city. Very convenient, comfort oriented ride and will love this 4 speed Torque converter which is what designed for daily commute within city with absolute ease
> Suspension tuned towards comfort oriented ride
> Better visibility, no thick A Pillar as in Nexon, rear view visibility is better
> Feels more tuned towards comfort and ease with a preference on those who love relaxed drive
> Toyota After sales has nothing to beat
> Expect better Fuel Efficiency in Smart Hybrid system

But yes
> Interior feels dated and plastic quality looks like yeater years
> Not as feature loaded as in Nexon
> Rear Seat are placed slight upright which may not be as comfy as in Nexon for long distance trips
> Lacks advanced safety of ESP and although car is 4 star rated, but Nexon is even better with 5 star rated

Let me tell you Hill Start Assist is not a gimmick feature in any sense. When you going on hill drive on steep hills, mountain - you will find this feature very useful as in case of loss of traction - along with traction control - Hill Start assist will hold car for 2 seconds to let driver control car in a better way.

So Essentially
> If majorly in city drive or say 85%+ in city too - Urban Cruise is what best for you. Reliable, fuel efficienct and more comfy
> However, thinking for highways, hills and a car with unmatched build, styling, features - Nexon XZA+ is a great pick

Hope should help !!
