Sir, presently I own a POLO diesel Comfortline, 2013 registration, 2012 manufacturing. Due to NGT ruling for diesel vehicles, I need to buy a Car. Since as of now my monthly use is between 600-800 kms, with 50% on highway drive.

I am confused, whether to buy Tiago new or from Spinny like portals, where 2018/19 models with 15-25K run are available within 4-5L. Other thought I am having is, if in future, my monthly run increases, should I buy a CNG compatible vehicle like Amaze from Spinny like portal that is again available at 4-5 L. Thinking of Amaze because, of built quality better than of Maruti and some boot space available after CNG cylinder installation.

Also, suggest How can I avail unbiased, thorough test and assessment services of used vehicle before finalizing the deal.

Hi Akash,

First of all as you driving in car like Polo Diesel, owing car like Tiago Petrol would just make you feel like 2 segment down
> First of all transformation from Diesel to Petrol
> Secondly, Tiago Petrol Engine is quiet average in performance

Having said same, if you seek car in budget price of 4 Lakh to 5 Lakh - going ahead with second hand car is definite a better scenario with plethora of choices.

Honda Amaze definite is a better choice, but from CNG Perspective - performance would be deteriorated
Also, the used car market as we understand with respect to Owner who retro fit CNG in Car by spending in Rs 40,000 or so - do it to own car for slight long term perspective. Objective is to enjoy lower running cost for a sufficient period - atleast 4 to 5 years horizon

But, if you getting retro CNG equipped Cars on sale in used car market wherein CNG was fitted within 2 years - there is high probability that CNG Compatibility issues are there. So best to avoid in those

Having same same - if you still seek CNG Equipped car - i suggest to check out Maruti Ertiga CNG which was well available in 1.4 Litre K Series engine and flip down 3rd row and use it as spacious 5 seater with space left for boot. Also, car build although not great, but well good - this car scored 4 star in ASEAN NCAP.

Else It would rather be better to go in for a well maintained Petrol Engine Car and install in Sequential Kit by yourself from government retro fit center on own.

For Used Car Inspection
I suggest to check these 2 videos

Should give you fair idea on inspection end on own.

Hope should help !!
