Hi Team,

Hope every one is doing good and staying healthy.

Before i start my queries , let me introduce my self and my car , which will help u serve me better.

Please find the attached payment receipt.

This Sandeep from Hyderabad age 34 , with happy family. My current car is VW Polo 1.5 TDI , which is running near to 100000 km's in odometer. i loved each and every time i drive this car.
Things i like in this car:
1. Power
2.Handling
3.Interior Quality
4.Build Quality
5.No rattle sounds.
6.Suspension

Things i don't like:
NVH Levels

Now lets come to the point.. i had a thought of buying a new car after i achieve some goal which i did . So i have 80% decided to buy a car EmojiEmoji. Here are my requirements and have below queries before deciding my next car. My avg use would be around 12000 km's per year

Requirements:
1. Power (Not less than the polo TDI ..Torque that it generates will really make me smile and that continues in my long drives..)
2.Handling (On my drive from Hyd to my native(banglore high way) i really enjoy the way polo handles in the corners and while taking the sharp overtakes)
3.Overall performance (should not be less than the polo TDI)
4.Interior and exterior build Quality (when i am inside the car and hold the steering i should feel the quality and solid build)
5. Suspension should be good enough to handle all the roads (no off roads ).
6. Not a big fan of fancy features.
7.Would require all required safety features.
8.Car should last long at-least for 1 lakh km's
9.Mileage (should not bother much but should consider seeing the prices )

Before i put my shortlisted cars , my budget is 11 -13 lakhs on road hyd.

Cars in my mind:
1. Kushaq/Taigun
2.Ecosport Diesel
3.VW Vento /Skoda Rapid
4.Nexon Diesel (If Alpha platform nexon will be released)
5. Kia Sonet Diesel Automatic ( It doesn't tick most of my requirement's but i like the gearbox and very low NVH Levels)

Please suggest me the car what comes in your mind considering my requirements.

Queries :
1. What would be expected prices of Kushaq,Taigun ?
2. When will new Vento and Rapid come in ? and what would be the price ? (Here in hyd on road price of existing Highline is 11.5 and highline plus is 13 lakhs on road manual versions and AT version(13 and 15 lakhs).
3.What are Ford future plans ? are they going to stay for next 8-10 years ?
4.What would be the future of diesel engines when bs6.2 and bs7 standards come in ?
5. Any plans to build nexon in Alpha platform ?
6. Can we Altroz in nexon tune diesel engine ?
7. Life of Tata Diesel engines ? Should run 1 lakh with out major issues.

Dear Sandeep ji,

Greetings !!

Recommenddation
Basis your requirement preference - should not look out for anything else than Ford Ecosport Sports Diesel with strong reasons in favor
1. Power - you would love in power performance and pep to it. The way mid range goes and lag free performance - its a car which has all reasons to bring smile on face especially fact that you experienced in VW Polo TDI

2.Handling - Steering dynamics are second to none. You will love in every bit of cornering and high speed dynamics

3.Overall performance - comparable to experience as in Polo 1.5 TDI

4.Interior and exterior build Quality - Sturdy

5. Suspension should be good enough to handle all the roads - Well is suspension on stiffened note. You will definite observe some kind of stiffness when driving on city bad roads, but highway dynamics are reasonable good

6. Not a big fan of fancy features - Fan or not but Ecosport Sports Diesel is like fully loaded with great features including class leading sync3 touchscreen, 6 Airbags, ESP, HID Projectors, Stylish Alloys and yes with Sunroof. Care to save money - check out Ecosport Titanium Diesel where On road will touch in 11.5 Lakh in Hyderabad

7.Would require all required safety features - Ecosport Sports has fully loaded active & passive safety

8.Car should last long at-least for 1 lakh km's - With 8 years in market - very reliable and time tested one

9.Mileage (should not bother much but should consider seeing the prices ) - Impressive, 15 Kmpl in city and can touch in 18 to 20 Kmpl on highway

Other Queries
Queries :
1. What would be expected prices of Kushaq,Taigun ?: Likely to start from Rs 9.99 Lakh exshowroom

2. When will new Vento and Rapid come in ? and what would be the price ? : Not in 2021 atleast

3.What are Ford future plans ? are they going to stay for next 8-10 years ?: Ford not going to leave India as they doing higher exports than domestic sales. So, even if sales continue to be under pressure they not going anywhere as margin on exports are very competitive

4.What would be the future of diesel engines when bs6.2 and bs7 standards come in ?: I can tell you that even Maruti going to upgrade 1.5 DDIS 225 Diesel engine in near future to BS6 which they working as select demand of diesel cars in performance segment to be there. Toyota Foruner, Innova crysta still has 99% of sales in Diesel, Creta has 40%+ sales in Diesel. Compass is favorite in diesel. XUV500, Harrier, Safari are diesel only cars

5. Any plans to build nexon in Alpha platform ? : No official update

6. Can we Altroz in nexon tune diesel engine ? : Dont think so

7. Life of Tata Diesel engines ? Should run 1 lakh with out major issues. : Ford, Toyota, Hyundai Diesel Engines - can vouch for same in present market

Hope should help !!

Hi Sandeep,

Both Cars are very different.
While Vento TSI has
> Excellent Mid range, but yes has definite turbo lag till 2000 rpm. Ecosport Diesel on other hand is lag free and pulls cleanly with strong torque band of Diesel Engine

> From Clutch perpsective, While Vento has long travel range for clutch, Ecosport has slight stiffer clutch

> Handling dynamics of Vento will rate is better.

Vento yes feels more spacious, superior fun on highway, better interiors and suspension is not as stiff as in Ecosport. But Ecosport Diesel has biggest usp of almost lag free performance where this Diesel Engine always brings a smile right in city for clean pull with lower running cost.

Care for fully loaded active & passive safety features - Ecosport Sports Diesel has in all and yes all this comes with lower running cost.
Ecosport downside are
> Relative stiffened clutch
> Compact legroom on rear seat
> Interior do not feel as plush as in Vento

but from drive perspective - this Diesel engine is a gem of all.
Suggest to test drive and experience in. Hopefully should get an answer by experiencing the car.
