(1) My usage of car would be monthly once travel to native place in highway and in native around 60 km usage in city roads whenever I go native.
(2) Very less usage in Bangalore in weekends.
(3) Looking for safe car
(4) Long term reliability ( will be keeping this car for another 10 years)
(5) Budget is 8.5 lakhs on road

My original permenant address proofs are in native tamilnadu. So need help to understand where can I buy and register car for my above usage? In tamilnadu or bangalore. For my above usage, which car will be suitable?

Registering in TN would be economical.

Greetings !!

Car Registration City
Technically, car is registered in city where one stays
So if you are working in Bangalore and thus stays there then ideally should get vehicle registered in Karnataka

But, if your home town is TamilNadu where tax rates are lower and basis provision in Motor Vehicle Act where its referred that a vehicle owner do not need to register car at start and can register car at later date (if period of stay going to be more than 12 months) and fact that jobs is something which can be switched, quit or transferred .

In light of above fact, possibly registering car in Tamil Nadu is a better scenario been fact of lower road tax

Best Buy Car
Basis need as specified of
> Safety
> Highway Usage
> Reliability

If you are a driver who drive in controlled speed on highway to tune of 80 Kmph then Maruti Vitara Brezza Lxi is a great choice
> 1.5 Litre 4 cylinder Petrol Engine has enough grunt for performance
> 4 Star Safety Rated Car
> Very Reliable
> Spacious
> Despite base model - car equipped with decent features
> Yes has lower scheduled service cost
> Suspension dynamics are well sorted

Downside
> Very average plastic quality
> Lack adjustable rear seat head restraints (but there is a way to get it, check MyCarHelpline thread on Brezza rear seat head restraints)
> Not the best in steering feedback on above 80 kmph speed

But overall basis budget specified you can have budget in
> 5 Year Warranty
> Reliability
> Peace of Mind Ownership
> Safe and Good Features

Have a test drive and experience.

Hope should help !!

Thanks for your response and clarifying my doubt.

As you have mentioned if I register in TN , As per my understanding I can use it in Bangalore for first one year.
Is it correct?

As I will be traveling to Tamilnadu monthly once, After one year is it mandatory to register in KARNATAKA?

What will be the procedure if I have to register in Karnataka after one year? This will lead to paying both road taxes right?

Choice of car: I will test drive Breeza.

Dear sir,

I took test drive of Brezza, the car is good. We saw Vxi model only in showroom not Lxi. I am also thinking if I go for Brezza , I need to increase budget and should go for Vxi minimum to avoid aftermarket. So I need to think about it.

How about considering Tigor or Aura for this price? Any other car which will have minimum features?

Hi,

Yes if flexible on budget can consider in Brezza Vxi or Toyota Urban Cruiser mid (as rebadged version of brezza) but with
> Revised front grille
> Brown Interior theme

For other cars
> Aura has very average steeing feedback on higher speed, feels rather very average in handling aspect
> Tigor in 1.2 Petrol 3 cylinder Engine do not feel at all exciting on highway

An alternative buy to it would be Tata Nexon XM Petrol which cost around rs 40,000 lesser than Brezza Vxi in On road after factoring in discount part,. Best part is
> 5 Star Build Quality
> ESP as advanced safety
> Nexon BS6 is much improved over BS4 and power delivery feels lot better
> Sports Mode is fun to drive experience
> Been 3.5 year Old product - almost all initial niggles been resolved
> Nexon XM equipped with all essential standard safety, styling and convenience features

Downside
> Not the best in insulation. Higher Wind Noise
> A Pillar creates slight obstruction on cornering, rear windshield is smaller
> Ingress and egress not as smooth as in other SUV Cars in segment
> Tata After Sales Service still needs a lot to catch up for very best of experience

But overall Nexon XM too creates a compelling value proposition at the price at which is offered

Hope should help !!

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your valuable suggestions.

I have enquired about Nexon and yet to test drive.
Again considering the budget 8.5 lakhs, I think now one lakhs going to increase if I go with Nexon xm or brezza Vxi.

Can I consider Altroz petrol variant or any alternative within this budget of 8.5 lakhs and max another 30k I can pay for accessories and extended warrenty.

I am considering Brezza Lxi also, but wanted to check other options also before making final decision.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Hi,

As your running going to be on highway, Altoz 1.2 Petrol Engine feels mediocre on highways with higher engine NVH
Best to check out Ford Freestyle Titanium or rather better as Titanium Plus
> ESP as important safety element is there
> Superior high speed handling
> Lower Engine NVH as against Altroz

Overall Freestyle should be an interesting choice and better bet over Altroz.

Thanks for your response.

I will be visiting ford showroom this week end as it is far from my place.

Meanwhile I visited tata showroom andvtest driven Nexon. I feel space wise it's big car. XE is within my budget. If budget is increased Xm can be chosen. The only thing is waiting period for Nexon is now 3 to 4 months.

Meanwhile I got chance to test drive Renault Kiger. I felt it's easy to drive .And waiting period is less.

Now I am confused between Kiger Rxt turbo Vs Nexon xe/xm Vs Brezza Lxi and freestyle titanium plus.

I am little bit worried about Nexon waiting period and service. My dealer says you can book and wait for 4 weeks. Meanwhile if you get any other car. You can cancel and can get full refund. I yet to visit ford.

Hi,

As referred earlier also
> Nexon XM is a decent proposition choice
> Brezza Vxi is good

Yes there is considerable waiting on Nexon and fact that Tata Plant in Pune is closed

I wont really recommend Kiger RXT Turbo. To view Nexon XM and Brezza Vxi has a strong upper hand towards it in most of the parameters
Consider Ford Freestyle Titanium / titanium plus only if you seek to restrict budget and considering hatch or sedan cars

But if slight flexible on the
> Nexon XM
> Brezza Lxi or Vxi

would be recommended pick, followed by Freestyle Titanium
