Hello,

I have been using my brothers Ford Figo Diesel manual not frequently though. Now I’m planning to buy a car for self and looking out for automatic option for convenience as my wife will also drive it. I’m looking for petrol as my running is not much and would be 70% city and 30% highways ( in case any trips are planned not more than 800kms )

What I’m looking for :
Reliable, Bit of fun to drive, Rear space comfort, Safety , Mileage

Options looked:
Polo High-line AT - Best driving experience, but lacks rear space.

Skoda Rapid- Rider plus AT - Again great driving experience, but worried with after sales and maintenance and rumours.

Nexon XMA - good C-SUVish feeling but again not sure if TATA petrol engines are reliable

Venue S turbo DCT - no C-SUV feeling felt like a premium hatch , also heard that DCT heats up in bumper to bumper traffic conditions.

Jazz CVT : relaxed car , smooth transmission but heard with 5 passenger plus luggage the car lacks power and friend of mine had to get out of car to make car move in hills.

Alternative : Found a Preowned Ford Figo 2019 AT with 1.5 ltr Dragon petrol Engine car was good but mileage was my concern but still let me know if this is good pick at 7 lacs make of the car is Dec 2019 1300kms driven with 4 years warranty not sure if the car is still available now been 2-3 days

Please suggest me a good pick. Mostly my running will be in city and some plans trips which will be once twice 6 months

Hi Paresh ji,

Greetings !!

Ford Figo Automatic
From the given choices Figo Automatic looks like a very tempting choice
But only concern is
> Why 1300 Kms in last 1 year. Was it a test drive demo car and later on odo reset.
> Have you asked for VIN Number, if yes pls share to decode same.

If indeed is December 2020 manufactured and is proven that car odometer reading is indeed at just 1300 Kms
I would place bet here. Although Mileage yes is low at 9 to 10 Kmpl but trust this 1.5 Litre Dragon Petrol Engine in 6 Speed Torque converter makes Figo a reasonable fun to drive car. Handling is top notch, Build is good

Yes you may end up with almost 1 Lakh higher fuel cost in next 5 years if you drive in say 10,000 Kms a year - but trust the experience of driving this car is super awesome

If car is available, give a strong thought to it

Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Automatic
A Great performance car in 1 Litre TSI
> Top Notch Build
> Good Spacioius cabin for 4 adults
> Handling, Steering dynamics are awesome
> Turbo lag is masked and no issues as such
> Very fun to drive
> Best in class paint quality

and fact that Skoda India localising parts, offering
> 4 year standard warranty extenable to 6 years costing Rs 26,000
> 4 year prepaid AMC Maintenance pack in name of Skoda Supercare Standard pack which what cost around rs 35000 for 4 years inclusive of GST

If you have requirement of 4 members then no apprehensions for Skoda Rapid TSI Automatic
Its a great value choice and the fact that Skoda improving localization, focussing on bringing cost of ownership, has many products in line along with correct strategy by company in terms of customer centric ops. Skoda India Director Zac Hollis is almost like personally involved with many customers to ensure superior customer delight experience

I have no apprehensions in stating that Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Automatic is a great value choice.

Overall
Look out for Ford Figo Automatic if available and extract details,
else Skoda Rapid Rider Plus Auto is a great value pick and can well be considered,

Hope should help !!
