HI Sir,

I am following mycarhelpine on youtube videos and website since 3 months and its worth.

I am Planning to buy new car and need your expert suggestion.
We are staying in Bangalore and it would my 1st car. Just completed 30 hrs Car Drving classes and have DL. so I am new to car driving and learner.
So I don't have much 4 wheeler driving experience.

My daily car usage is 25 KMs per day.(12.5 KMs one side to office which has 6 KM highway and 6.5 KMs normal roads). Weekends I may travel 20 Kms but approx 75 KMs per month.
so my car total usage 650 to 700 KMs Per month. However currently I am WFH so I drive the car when office open, likely after 6 Months. I may practice driving with new car until office opens.
Also I may plan two trips in a year and each side it may 300 to 500 KMs in south india and I may visit my home town once in year 1200 KMs. Or I may avoid this long trip every year but may go at least once or twice in 5 years by own car.
I am 5.10 height. we are 4 adults for trips and weekend travel(myself 5.10 height, 2 adults are just 5.2 feet and teenager can grow upto 6 feet)

We have company lease program so I would like to opt car lease instead of loan due to tax savings. Lease duration is 3 years.
My friend and his colleges are using Tata Nexon 6 cars but different variants so they suggested Nexon.
Me and my family had visited the showrooms and had a look on Magnet, KIA Sonet, XUV 300 , Ecosport Titanium, Nexon XMA and XZA , Venue , I20 and honda City. Out of them Nexon we liked it based on exterior, Interiors , Music system and Safety ratings.
So I booked (18-Feb-21) Tata Nexon Petrol XZA+. Ex showroom 10.36L and its 13L on road price quoted. The wait time is more.
My wife also has interest to drive so we prefer Automatic but she may drive occasionally as she is house wife and she also yet to learn the driving :)

Though I had booked Nexon but I am re-thinking whether is it value of Money as paying 13L as its tata Product and heard about the engine lag and cabin noise in youtube reviews ?
I am thinking over Xuv 300 / Kia / Ecosport / VW Vento / Creta basic but I dont want to spend more than 14L on road and I am glad if save some amount by choosing another car ?
Also I dont want a car which give Milage is less than 11 KMPL and dont want to spent too much service cost etc. I dropped EV as India EV infra is not ready and it may take another 4 to 5years.
My wife like superior Interiors like Nexon XZ+ and I prefer Engine quality and safety.
Generally I don't change vehicles so I may use this car 7 to 10 years.
Hence would you please suggest a best car in that segment or any.

Greetings !!

Appreciate sharing in detailed inputs
See problem is high road tax in Karnataka which is what highest. Been if you decide to spend in 13 Lakh On road, eventually a car costing in around 10.5 Lakh will feature in your budget been almost Rs 2 Lakh will be shelved off against road tax.

Now Tata Nexon although a great product basis
> Safety Aspect
> Interior Aesthetics
> Styling Aspect
and yes BS6 AMT feels lot more responsive but eventually has to understand that its AMT and is what Nexon available in 3 cylinder Petrol Engine.

To view if you seek
> Styling Aspect
> Superior Infotainment Experience
> Safe and Reliable Car

and a car for 4 people and flexible in between Hatch, Sedan (as you were exploring City) and SUV
My suggestion is to have test drive and experience in
1. Honda Jazz Zx CVT: CVT Automatic in Jazz is a great performer. Honda Ivtec with
> High Reliability
> Spacious Cabin
> Feature loaded with Sunroof, LED Headlights, Good Pleasing Interiors, Space
> CVT with Paddle Shifters
and yes car is fuel efficient too

is a great value proposition and are discounts too. Infact, been ex-showroom price is less than 10 Lak, road tax will be lower too and car on road price after dealer end discount offers will fall in just at 11.5 Lakh On road

You can avail in
> 5 Year Warranty
> 2 Year Prepaid Service cost
in around Rs 23,000 and have a great performer product with better transmission and superior refinement
Downside is 6 month service interval, so scheduled annual cost for later years will be around Rs 10,000 but you saving good amount of money upfront so not much conern

2. Opt for Hyundai Venue Sx Option IMT : Now although this is not Automatic but IMT Cars are fair ease to drive as
> No Manual Clutch Pedal
> Comes with creep mode on 1st and 2nd gear

You will have very convenient drive and be assured that
> Infotainment sound clarity is awesome
> Has Lower Maintenance cost than Brezza, Ecosport, Nexon
> Very reliable product from Hyundai
> Fully Loaded Active & Passive Safety with Lifestyle features
> One among better infotainment system

Yes - rear seat legroom is slight compact but if you have 2 members who are 5'2" in height - rear seat should not be an issue too

My strong recommendation is
to experience in
> Honda Jazz CVT
> Hyundai Venue Sx Option IMT

Both are great picks. Have a test drive and revert on your experience.
To view basis requirement as specified including lifestyle features, infotainment experience, reliability and value pick both these cars can be great to view.

Hi Gagan sir,
Thanks for your suggestions.
Honda Jazz CVT - Don't have rear head rest so we may not like it, but yet to explore it.
Hyundai Venue Sx Option IMT --> This is 1.0 turbo which is lesser than Nexon 1.2 turbo so which is better one and please justify.
Also Hyundai Venue Sx(O) IMT price is higher than Nexon Pertro XZA+ so would you please suggest how this is better than Nexon Pertro XZA+ ?
Hyundai Venue Sx Option IMT does it have all safety features which Nexon XZA+ provides ? am I miss any?
if I choose Venue then can I pick Hyundai Venue Sx IMT (without O) and which is value for money?
Also may I know why these are not under your suggested list or dropped with any specific reasons sonet IMT / XUV 300 AutoShift / Ecosport Titanium+ Petrol AT / SE or Ecosport Titanium+ Diesel .. How is the mileage of these cars in IMT / Automatic?
I am ok if a car mileage is 12 to 15 KMPL but my choice is IMT / AMT .. I heard CVT maintenance / service is expensive so I didn't consider it but you may suggest it. also ff the service cost is higher Rs. 3 to 4 K per service then I am ok with it . If its under checklist criteria.

Do I need to push my budget or should I wait for a better Car to be released in 2021 . but my budget cap including on road 13 to 15L.
Sir, many of your videos recommended about Ecosport so why it can't be in your recommended list for me , just curiosity to know ?

How about Maruti CIAZ for my requirements as said before or any other car to consider or wait for a few more months on upcoming compact SUV 2021 like Tata HBX or eXUV 300 if one charge above 400 KM..

Hi.

Honda Jazz CVT - Don't have rear head rest so we may not like it, but yet to explore it.

Okay, but you referred height of 2 members as 5'2", Jazz has small fixed headrest,
Should not be an issue for family members of that height

Hyundai Venue Sx Option IMT --> This is 1.0 turbo which is lesser than Nexon 1.2 turbo so which is better one and please justify.

Its incorrect to go on pure number terms. Even though Nexon has 120 PS Power and 175 NM Torque in bigger 1.2 Litre but Nexon is what heavier in kerb weight and important to understand how power delivery happens
Venue feels relative more peppier in performance due to lower kerb weight.

For features, pls check
> Venue Sx Option IMT
> Nexon XZA Plus AMT

Be assure that
> Product after sales
> Reliability
> Service experience
> Maintenance cost
of Hyundai is an edge and notch ahead

Venus Sx Option IMT recommended over Venue Sx basis safety experience and lifestyle features

I heard CVT maintenance / service is expensive so I didn't consider it but you may suggest it. also ff the service cost is higher Rs. 3 to 4 K per service then I am ok with it . If its under checklist criteria.

Is a myth to think that CVT Maintenance is on higher side. However Jazz CVT comes with bi-annual service interval , so can expect in Rs 10000 a year as service cost due to 2 paid service in a year

Ecosport Auto
Mileage is the biggest concern. ANything around 8 to 9 KMpl should be a reasonable expectation

eXUV300
Dont go by claimed numbers
Real World mileage is on lower side. At Nexon EV expect 200 Kms as reasonable expectation, MG Zs EV at 260 to 270 Kms and Kona EV at 300 KMs. If 400 Kms then would be too much of an expectation with eXUV300.

Hope should help !!

In my experience amt on tata is very bad because of jurkiness and for the fact that giving amt on a 10L above car is daylight robbery.Have you ever considered vitara brezza or magnite?

Hi

Mileage is based on number of factors including :-
> Average speed
> Load in Car
> Traffic conditions

Stil-l AMT Mileage is almost like same as what one get in Manual Transmission, means can expect in 12 to 12.5 Kmpl in city in regular usage.
For Ciaz - although Delta Automatic comes with all standard safety, styling, convenience & Infotainment but if care for modern age feel as
> Push Ignition
> Touchscreen with Android Auto
> Camera
> Power Fold ORVM
> Projectors
can consider Zeta and fact that price difference in between Zeta and Alpha is just rs 40,000 with top of line fully loaded having leatherette seats, bigger alloys, auto dim IRVM - best buy is Ciaz Alpha for a feel of modern age fully loaded car (On road price difference is rs 1.3 Lakh in between base Delta Automatic and top of line Alpha Automatic)

Best Buy
Basis fact you stated about
we are 4 adults for trips and weekend travel(myself 5.10 height, 2 adults are just 5.2 feet and teenager can grow upto 6 feet)

I feel Jazz Vx CVT is a great value choice.

If seek to spend higher then Venue Sx Option IMT.
Hope should help !!

Would you please suggest sedan cars citi usage 70%. And 30% high way daily basis. Yearly 2 trips 400 km.
Very good interiors, infotainment, safety like Nexon or more.

@ Eswar

Experience in Volkswagen Vento Highline Automatic

Exshowroom is 12.49 Lakh, but offer price is 11.7 Lakh
Is an awesome experience car with one among superior build quality in Mid Sedan segment and yes is what essentially as 4 seater one
Will love in engine performance, handling dynamics. Available with 4 yr warranty and 4 yr RSA.
VW localizing parts and somehow spare are now competitively priced. service cost expect in range of rs 7500 to 8000 a year which although looks on face of it as slight higher but considering synthetic oil - its justified

Hope should help !!

Thank you Gagan Ji.

Volkswagen Vento Highline Automatic -- is it fuel efficiency, realistic mailege avg?
Toyota Yaris automatic , Honda City 5 gen V CVT automatic or VX CVT automatic? Should I consider them ,. Please suggest.

Hi,

Yaris although looks like value in base J CVT trim, but if going to higher up variants then basis price point -
> Engine performance
> Space in cabin

do not feel like delivering any good. Infact for J CVT too - Toyota silently increased prices to tune of rs 40K and also removed alloy wheels as feature - so that super value feel is gone in Yaris J CVT too

The car basis poor sales is on verge of discontinuation and will soon be replaced with cross badged Ciaz soon

Honda City : If flexible on budget a great choice
V CVT @ 12.4 Lakh & Vx CVT @ 13.75 Lakh
For value perpsective opt for V CVT - a great pick in space, reliability, CVT performance is linear and now available with lower service cost as scheduled service interval is annual.

However, do note that
> Suspension is on soft note
> Do not carry the kind of handling as in VW Vento

For a 4 member family, Vento Highline AT where rear seat passenger height is 5'2" - to view delivers even superior value proposition

Hope should help !!

Thank you Gagan Ji and team.
I will go as you suggest Vento Highline AT. Can we get realistic milage 12 to 13 in city. And
Vento is it get updated release in 2021. Also any price expected to increase or decrease since it about Indian made. Is it good to wait.. I may not extend above 14.5 lakh..
