d) Any preference of Manual or Automatic

e) What you seek most in next car - Convenience of drive / Fun to drive. Do you drive in Relaxed way or seek no compromise on pickup

Hello Subodh ji,

Thanks for sharing details.
There are 2 Cars which are best suited for need, requirement as specified

As you buying your 1st Car with preference of
> Convenience in drive
> Value for money
> Low maintenance
> Safety features
> Fuel Efficiency

in Compact SUV Segment

1. Toyota Urban Cruiser High: The key highlight of this Car
> Engine performance where 1.5 Litre Petrol Engine is very responsive and suspension dynamics are well sorted. You will love in drive experience
As its not a turbo charged Engine - no lag and best part is 4 cylinder engine where NVH Levels are well controlled

> Toyota bullet proof reliability and premium after sales service is a differentiating aspect. offered with 3 year warranty. Scheduled service cost would be fair competitive too

> At Rs 9.25 Lakh exshowroom - Brezza loaded with all Modern age features - Alloys, Touchscreen with Android Auto & Apple Car play, Auto climate control, LED Projector, LED DRL, Auto Climate Control. You will find this SUV to be fair equipped. Although rear view camera is not factory fit - but can be added as accessory

> Safe Car as Maruti Suzuki Brezza scored 4 star in Global NCAP - expect no different for Urban Cruiser too.

> For Mileage - important to note that SUV Cars due to wider tyres, raised ground clearance and higher kerb weight do not offer high mileage. But, if seeking Compact SUV in Petrol expect Brezza to deliver in around 12 Kmpl in City and anything around 15 Kmpl on highway

> Spacious Car, easy Ingress and Egress. Can have space for 4 adults and 1 kid

Car On Road Price is 10.35 Lakh and after almost Rs 20,000 Discount would cost in Rs 10.15 Lakh on road

Downside
> Interior Aesthetics not the best. Very average plastic quality

> Rear Seat Recline Angle - where rear seat feels like slight upright

2. Mahindra XUV300 W6 Petrol: Now - XUV is what an excellent choice from

> 1.2 Litre Turbo Petrol Engine with segment highest 200 NM Torque. This car is one few among Compact SUV where turbo lag is minimal and offers a great pickup in 6 Speed Manual Transmission

> Suspension offers comfort oriented drive. You will love in drive experience of XUV300 a notch ahead against Brezza. With Multi Mode Steering - feedback is good

> Very Spacious, actually XUV300 initially was planned as full size SUV against Creta rival - but to make it price competitive designed under sub 4 meter segment by reducing boot and trim bumper. Wheelbase is longest in sub 4 meter car segment at 2600 mm. Can have 3 average size adults on rear seat with comfort

> 5 Star Rated Car with highest score among all Sub 4 Meter Cars in Safety Rating

> Well Mileage in a Turbo car depends on lot of factors, but still anything around 11 to 11.5 Kmpl should be a reasonable expectation

> Although you need it or not but W6 Petrol now offers lifestyle feature as Electric Sunroof

Downside
> Wind Noise is definite felt in cabin on higher speed. Engine noise levels are on a higher side

> Mahindra After sales still need a lot to catch up with the best.

In terms of On road price, if you negotiate for handing charge and buy online insurance can expect final on road price coming to 10.5 Lakh zone

Basis requirement specified - these 2 are best recommended picks
Suggest to have test drive to experience. Overal
> If you like more Powerful car with more enthusiast drive - XUV300 W6 Petrol is a great pick
> If like linear power pickup with Top Notch reliability - Toyota Urban Cruiser Mid is a great choice

Hope should help !!

Hi Subodh ji,

Nexon
Although Nexon is a great choice and yes is much improved in BS6 State
Performance is better in city mode, safe car, spacious

But, been you referred one of the key preferences as
> Low Maintenance
> Best average in petrol

Nexon is not best in after sales service experience and to our view both Toyota and Mahindra leads
Also somehow mileage is not the best due to heavier body weight - infact Nexon is heaviest compact SUV

S Cross
Yes offers premium experience over Urban cruiser in Space, Features and if exceed in budget for S Cross Zeta - recline rear seat and highway dynamics are better

But issue with S Cross is that its based on heartect platform, and somehow other Maruti Cars been crash tested on this heartect platform did not performed as well. Maruti Premium range Ertiga, based on heartect scored 3 star and marked unstable in crash test.

In absence of crash test rating of S Cross, and fact Seltos scored 3 star - there is definite a doubt on cars which are not crash tested
When you spending in Million - 10 Lakh and aware of similar car from Maruti Vitara Brezza scored 4 star and is the only car from Maruti Suzuki based on modified global platform of Suzuki - it makes all sense to go with Brezza or rebadged Urban Cruiser

Hope should help !!

Hello Subodh ji,

Depends - but Maruti Ciaz Delta is a great choice
> Comfort oriented suspension - will find ride plush
> Great Fuel Efficiency
> Competitive Maintenance cost
> Very reliable product from Maruti
> Light Steering, accurate gear shift and light clutch

Also, Ciaz scored 4 Star in ASEAN NCAP (although heartect one is not been crash tested) but still Ciaz as value proposition in terms of Mileage, Maintenance and comfort oriented drive is a great pick

May check !!

Is it advisable to wait for 2nd generation Brezza for LXI variant? When might it get launched?
