Namaskaram Gagan ji..

I currently own a hyundai eon for last 6 years. I am quite satisfied with it especially on the narrow roads of Kochi. But recently i did a kochi to haryana round trip in eon covering around 6.5k kms. Although it behaved really well even at 90kmph without any hiccups.. i felt like i can shift the segment.

I mostly drive in city, moreover the narrow roads of kerala make it city like everywhere. And in 5 years i have driven only 44000 kms.. 9 k in last 3 months.. I am not able to decide what to buy. a petrol or diesel. sedan or hatchback or CSUV..
I have not test driven the cars but i liked xuv 300 and s cross for their cabin feels, esp my spouse liked s cross.. couldnot appreciate the all black interior of nexon, baleno (2 star rating of baleno and swift), plastic quality of brezza and swift.. although dezire felt better comparatively. Back ingress of altroz is not comfortable for my 6.1 feet height.. hyundai waiting period is off the charts.. kia and seltos- waiting period and could not appreciate their modern looks.. EcoSport is good but already have one in family.

What i want
A good build quality and safety
A good motor under the hood
Good handling and steering
Good mileage
Want to keep it under 10- 10.5lakh onroad..
Something value for money,
a family oriented car for mostly 2 adult and a child

Would prefer to keep it sub 4meter
I would be in driver seat for 80% or more of the time

Recently started watching your videos. So no longer running after those extra rich features like sunroof.. thinking of an all india trip this year, probably solo.. may be thats my main reason for car search.. otherwise feel that my eon is more than sufficient for routine office and city works..

What you suggest

Dear Vikas ji,

Greetings !!
Great to hear on your feedback and experience with Eon, yes time to upgrade

Considering experience you had with Hyundai Eon and requirement of car where you seek car with
> Good Headroom
> Space Front
> Build, Safety, NVH and Value for Money

Here with am recommending 3 Cars for need, specified

Honda Jazz Vx CVT
Time to move on with chanding trend of Automatic.
> You will love in sheer convenience which Honda Jazz offers. CVT is butter smooth, very refined and smooth pickup when go easy on throttle
> Best in class Headroom space and rear seat legroom space (although with family of 2 adults and a kid - rear seat space is not much usable, but if you seek class leading spacious cabin will love in experience there)
> Yes Sturdy, Safe Car with Jazz built on same platform on which 4th Generation City is build
> Dual Tone Beige and Black Interiors with Black Dash and Beige Seats, Beige Interiors - no claustrophobic feel
> Feature Loaded with Jazz Vx CVT including all essential convenience, styling, infotainment and modern age features
> Reliable Product from Honda Cars India and CVT as transmission is fuel efficient too

Pls check on Honda Jazz Vx CVT Features

Some Downside
> Service Interval is bi-annual, Cumulative Service cost would be on higher side.
> Rear Seat headrest are smaller and if someone of your height will sit on rear seat - will find a feel where to headrest

However, important to note that Its not a fun to drive car, rather is a car for relaxed drive so as to get the maximum out of same
Suggest to experience this car. This is very best of Premium Hatchback and definite a great experience, provided upkeep service cost is not a deal breaker.

Mahindra XUV300 W6 Petrol
Care for a car which scored
> Impressive 5 Star Safety Rating
> Comfort Oriented SUspension. Will love ride experience on good city roads
> Punchy Performance in 1.2 Litre Turbo with 110 PS Power and 200 NM Torque with very minimal lag, clean pull from 1500 rpm with a feel of performance factor
> Multi Mode Steering where steering yes gains weight in sport mode - ideal for highway

This car has all traits to deliver a great experience

Some Downside
> Boot Space is smallest in segment and somehow has to compromise on same
> Mahindra After sales and reliability - well although good and improved, but i still can not take a stand on same

Also, expectation should be clear that this is a SUV for good city roads and not a proper off road one.

Overall a great choice, if you seek to own a SUV in Manual Transmission

Kia Sonet HTK Plus IMT - If flexible to increase budget to 11 Lakh
Now - this is an interesting choice, considering you will get a feel of SUV Kind with convenience that no manual clutch pedal
> 1 Litre Turbo GDI has strong mid range from 2000 rpm onwards
> Although this is a Manual Transmission but No Clutch pedal for driver - makes driving stress free in city condition
> Very Stylish Car infact the most Stylish one in Compact SUV Segment
> Reliable product (been Kia part of Hyundai Globally) and 5 year prepaid service cost would just cost in Rs 23,000 + 5 year warranty for Rs 17,000 will ensure peace of mind ownership (yes will stretch in budget)
> A Great overall experience, no price hike yet

Some Downside
> Waiting - Long waiting and likely is price hike due in next 1 to 2 months which can exceed budget
> Rear Seat legroom space is compact and somehow feels conjested for a taller passenger

I recommended in 3 cars with every model
> Honda Jazz Vx CVT
> Mahindra XUV300 W6 Petrol
> Kia Sonet HTK Plus IMT

differes a lot basis driving pattern. While Jazz is for relaxed drive and make drive stress free and conveniet with best in class space, XUV300 is to enjoy in drive with space and best in class safety for enthusiast feel. Sonet on other hand gives convenience an important consideration while driving a SUV.

Suggest to take out some time and experience in these 3 cars - as thats of utmost importance before shortlisting one
Hope should help !!
