Hello Gaganji,

First of all, thank you for the amazing & informative videos on Youtube. Keep up the great work !!

Coming to my question:
I am looking for a car (preferably a compact SUV/SUV) that has a perfect balance of performance (should bring a smile on the face when I drive it) & fuel economy

Budget - 13 lacs

Based on your recent video of the most fun to drive cars I have shortlisted the below cars:
1. XUV300 Diesel
2. Ford Freestyle Diesel (but its smaller compared to the other options which is a negative point for me)
3. Tata Nexon Diesel
4. Hyundai Creta Diesel

Why Diesel - Because they are any day more efficient than Petrol cars & because they have amazing Torque
Also, I want manual transmission - that is for sure !!

Please help me decide between the above 4 cars. Any others that you would like to add to the list?

Thanks in advance!

Sorry I forgot to mention that I currently own an Ecosport 1.0L petrol ecoboost . Amazing performance but it's a gas guzzler. I get 7kmpl in the city which is way too less
Hence looking for a change !

Greetings !!

As i understand you seek a car with
> Fun to Drive
> Mileage
> Space Factor too

and yes basis budget of 13 Lakh - Freestyle seems like a compact one among rest of lot.
Also, Freestyle is good for someone in budget of 9 Lakh to 10 Lakh but when you are flexible on same then from given choices

Nexon and XUV300 Diesel
Although Tata Nexon is good but will pick Mahindra XUV300 Diesel for someone whos driving enthusiast
Somehow Nexon Diesel, although powerful but seems like car tuned to deliver in linear performance without lag. Although performance is better in sports mode but when you compare it against XUV300 Diesel which is like powerhouse in itself with 300 NM Torque - the power performance very well shows on road too

As a product comparison
> XUV300 Diesel yes definite feels more quicker and eager in response
> Suspension is tuned towards comfort oriented side in city and feels balanced on highway
> Yes Multi Mode Steering where steering gains weights on higher speed delivers good handlng

Nexon may be slight more fuel efficient but overall as been a performance enthusiast car, will rate Mahindra XUV300 Diesel a notch ahead as against Tata Nexon Diesel. However - pls note that XUV300 comes with smallest boot in segment

Hyundai Creta Diesel
1.5 Crdi Diesel Engine as what used in Hyundai Creta comes with
> Segment best refinement with best in class engine NVH Levels
> Also, the way power builds up in Creta Diesel brings a smile on the face

Yes there is no sudden outburst of power, but the way strong power momentum builds up in Creta with top notch refinement - it brings a smile on face. Only downside is that
> Handling dynamics on highway is not the best in segment due to slight softened up suspension and slight light steering
> Yes is relative higher waiting on Hyundai Creta Diesel which is extending to several months

Overall Recommendation
Given a choice Hyundai Creta Ex Diesel is a great buy especially for some one whos going to drive in city use. But when it comes to
> Handling Aspect on Highway (especially fact that you been driving Ecosport)
> Availability Status (where Creta Diesel has long waiting)
Mahindra XUV300 W8 Diesel / W8 Option Diesel remains a top pick and thanks to fully loaded features makes a great pick. Only in case you do not want to compromise on compact boot as used in XUV300 - then only should take Hyundai Creta Ex Diesel as an alternate great pick

Hope should help !!
