Sir, I want to buy an automatic car (5 seater) for family purpose, My budget is around Rs, 9 lakhs. My usage is 50% highway 50% city. I am a new driver. Please suggest me the best car within this budget considering all the features, comfort, looks, ride quality and of course safety standard. I want to have the car for long term. I was considering new i20 sportz IVT, Aura SX+ AMT, Toyota Glanza G CVT. But Glanza G variant does not come with rear camera. You can suggest me any other Automatic car if you think they are better than my selection. Please suggest me the car with variant. I am going to buy within 2 days.

Considering usage which is quiet on higher side for highway usage, you should check a car which comes with
> Superior Steering feedback on higher speed
> Wider Tyres for Better Grip
> Slight Stiffer suspension so that car should feel better planted on high speed dynamics
> Would be even better if have ESP as important safety element

As this is your first car - safety is also an important element

In terms of given choices
1. Hyundai Aura: Although an excellent commute for in city usage, but if majority of usage on highway then somehow its a mediocre choice basis fact that steering dynamics and handling feels very average for highway usage perspective.

2. Hyundai I20 Sportz: Comparatively a better choice as steering feedback is relative better as against Aura and with 16 Inch Wheels with wider Tyres grip on higher speed is better. But somehow there are better cars in segment which offer better steering feedback, handling as I20 still feels average on higher speed

3. Toyota Glanza: Although yes Glanza suspension is better sorted on higher speed been slight on stiffer note and adding on is proper Automatic transmission for convenience front. Grip levels are better. Only apprehension is build quality which feels average.

My recommendation been as your first car is to buy one which offers rather
> Better Highway dynamics
> Better Safety
than all the cars mentioned and to view Tata Nexon XMA AMT would be strong pick with strong reasons in favor

1. This AMT unit is now close to 2.5 years old in Nexon and thanks is much better especially with fine tune up, BS6 State and much lesser jerk as against what it used to be earlier

2. Improved power delivery. Nexon comes in Multi Mode Drive Mode where there is an enhancement and
a) City Mode : Feels better for relaxed drive with much better response as used to be earlier
b) Sports Mode : for even superior fun to drive

3. Now available with ESP, Traction Control as important safety feature in car which are what essential for highway. As will be able to steer on better in an emergency situation on highway

4. 5 Star Build Quality, Safety Rating

5. Nexon is now 3.5 year product from Tata Motors and trust now in BS6 State in 2021 can state that almost all issues been ironed and yes is superior in reliability perspective.

What you will Miss
> Although Nexon XMA is fair loaded with all standard styling, convenience, infotainment feature but what it lacks is higher up lifestyle features as what otherwise offered in Glanza / I20. If you seek camera then can be fitted as accessory

> Tata After sales Service. Am not stating about Product as Nexon as a product is now improved and reliable, but product after sales network still need a lot improvisation to make it better. Point is if you are in a location where there is single Tata Dealership / Workshop then try and get feedback from service aspect from local. Else if location with multi Tata Workshop - can take a chance been competition with other workshop leads to better service standards.

Instead of Toyota Glanza - recommend to check out Honda Jazz V CVT with 3 key reasons
a) Feels more sturdy as against Glanza
b) Available with Paddle Shifter
c) Interior Plastic Quality and Aesthetics feel more upmarket

Yes Tyre profile is not as wider as in Glanza, but be assured car feels well stable till speed of 100 Kmph as personally tested.
Steering feedback of Jazz feels marginally better as against Glanza, Baleno.

Our Final Recommendation
Have a test drive of
1. Nexon XMA
2. Jazz V CVT

To view are better pick over existing cars in consideration.
Hope should help !!
