I am writing this email to get your advice on a matter which is not clear to me.
I booked a Creta E variant diesel on 26th Sep'20 via Hyundai's click to buy online portal. I choose the dealer as per my convenience from the list available on the portal.
In the beginning I had a discussion with respect to Insurance and raised the concern with the customer care to which the dealership agreed verbally that I can buy the insurance myself.
The delivery date was given as 17th Feb'21, as I wanted to have a 2021 model.
I insisted for an early delivery in the month of Jan. The dealership asked to pay the amount in Jan first week so that they can allot the vehicle to me in the first batch.

Loan for 7.41L was approved and the same has been disbursed to the dealership in Dec last week, along with 1.95L as part payment of Down payment.

Yesterday I received a call from the sales representative wrt allotment of the vehicle, and asked me to deposit the remainder payment.
Also they asked me to buy certain accessories as the same will allow them to deliver the vehicle on priority basis. I am aware about these tactics and stalled the conversation for later.
The first EMI is scheduled for 5th Feb'21.
I am willing to make the remainder deposit excluding the Insurance and accessories amount.
How do I convince them to deliver the vehicle this month before 1st EMI gets deducted? Can the dealership allot me a damaged vehicle if I purchase the insurance from outside?

Greetings !!

As i understand that you are concerned on will a dealer damage the car intentionally or will offer damaged car in case you
> dont go for insurance from him
> or dont buy accessories

Can the dealership allot me a damaged vehicle if I purchase the insurance from outside?
Kind understand that dealer showroom work under rules as set by Manufacturer and they work as an agency to
> Sell car as what manufactured by OEM
> Transit from stockyard to Showroom
> Complete registration and sales formalities

A car is under Warranty by Car Manufacturer
No Dealer never ever did and surely will never do any intentional damage to car - ultimately the car would be what bought back on the head of dealer workshop to repair same under warranty. Now a days
> Social Media is very influential and manufacturer pr team and social media team keeps a close eye on social media event, discussions
> One wrong incident brings a lot of bad publicity and one negative review can influence 100 more buyer
> There are community groups where people share information and one negative information just flows like fire

There are even strict penalties and clear cut sales guidelines on any kind of tampering with car
So dont worry on same

Having said same, a dealer is in business of sales - he has put large investment on showroom, manpower, infra set up, process set up and ofcourse seek best way so as to maximize returns

> Selling car with prefitted accessories / accessories is one such way where dealer makes good amount of money
> Commission on sale of Insurance
> Commission on Finance
> Cmmission on Extended Warranty, exchange, other value added services

However, all these are 100% optional and not mandatory in any sense.
If you dont have requirement of any such thing - its perfectly fine because dealer owner has workshop also where they make money in annual service too. They wont annoy a customer like that - rather will build a relationship so that customer can retain in.

Now, in terms of queries
How do I convince them to deliver the vehicle this month before 1st EMI gets deducted?
As you have made payment of
> Rs 7.41 Lakh for loan already disbursed
> Rs 1.95 Lakh as down payment

Close to Rs 64,000 left as price of car along with registration and insurance amount
Tell him that you are doing Rs 64,000 payment now as shortfall of exshowroom and post pdi will do balance payment (dont quote at this moment whether you will do online insurance). Just ask him to get vehicle in stock so that pdi can be done and balance payment related to rto and all can can be release.

Once pdi done - pls release registration amount and for insurance aspect - let them know clearly that you buying it online as there quote is on higher side and same been discussed earlier too.

A dealer cant deny at last stage on same, especially with the fact that car pdi been done and you already released registration amount
So just go ahead in same way, likely should help in getting car.

Hope should help !!
