Resolved Want to buy Tata Nexon, but family and friends dont suggest this Car. What to do

See Tata Motors in 2021 is a lot different company as what it was 5 years back. They did host of enhancements in terms of
> Styling Aspect
> Features List
> Drive and Handling Aspect
> Engine Performance
> Build Quality
> Safety Aspect

and continually improving in product range as what used to be few years back. All Tata Cars
> Tiago
> Nexon
> Harrier

are what signature products and upcoming one
> Altroz with Turbo Petrol
> Safari
> Hornbill

will extend sales further in 2021

If i speak specifiec of Nexon 2021 BS6 is a significant improved product as what used to be in 2017 in BS4 regime when car was launched in Indian Market
> Improved Engine NVH Levels
> Improved Power Delivery
> Improved Safety
> Improved response of Multi Mode especially as what observed in city and sports mode
> Now available with ESP, Traction Control in 2021

Yes - i agree yester year Tata Cars were possibly not the best in reliability aspect, but Manufacturer putting lot of efforts and this is also showing in numbers too where Tata Motors now emerged back to 3rd best Auto Manufacturer in 2020 with average sales of 15,000 units a month (despite washed out April & May 2020)

Having said same,
> Yes Maruti, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota still leads the bechmark
> Engine NVH although lot improved but still needs lot of improvisation
> After sales service still needs a lot to catchup to the segment best car
> Resale factor still needs some time and i hope if Tata Motors continually improve in product portfolio and also improve after sales - may be just back in game in Used Car Resale market too

In terms of problem in Tata Cars in 1 to 2 Years
I disagree with statement completely considering the kind of technological upgrade and enhancements been done

But - to ensure peace of mind ownership
> Go with Extended Warranty (2+3 years)
> Nexon XMS is one among better value cars basis Turbo Petrol ENgine, Features, Advanced Safety as what offered in this variant including a dream for those buyers looking for Sunroof
> Idle in car engine for 30 seconds when driving for first time in morning after overnight drive
> Sacro sanct follow in service schedule

Having said same - an alternative choice

Alternative: If you seek leader in trust, reliability - check out Toyota Urban Cruiser Mid (essentially Brezza Vxi)
> 1.5 Litre Petrol Engine is super refined
> Toyota After sales experience is even better
> An excellent choice for in city usage
> 4 Star Safety rated car (as Brezza got this rating in Global NCAP)

Sonet at this price point is available in 1.2 Litre Petrol Engine and to view after witnessing safety rating of Seltos - Sonet with similar safety may not be just better than Seltos

It may just be worth to consider in
> Nexon XMS
or
> Urband Cruiser Mid / Brezza Vxi as excellent pick

Can i consider venue 1.2L as its better than sonet in terms of rear seat comfort and suspension wise

Venue 1.2 / Sonet 1.2 are essentially same cars which are tuned for anyone looking for a car for City Usage

However, for city use Venue feels marginally ahead against Sonet as suspension although on stiff note, not as stiff as what felt in Sonet
Having said same - Rear seat legroom yes is definite limited. If having family members
> whose average height is 5'5" or lesser to sit on rear seat
> Average Physique

then is okay to consider in Venue
On Highway 82 BHP Power with 116 NM Torque just can feel mediocre (not saying under-powered, but can just be average)

Kind note that Venue has lowest scheduled service cost in compact SUV Segment - so thats an advantage

But, if looking for all rounder car for
> Space
> City and Highway
> Punchy Mid range
> Superior Safety Part

then at this price point, if not Urban Cruiser / Brezza then Nexon XMS has lot better value proposition to it.

Thanks for the clarification. On the contrary, do you have any idea when ford EcoSport facelift with 1.2 ltr turbo engine will come. Is it advisable to wait for it as the now 1.5 ltr engine is poor on mileage.

Whether will come in 2021 or next generation in 2022 or will it come only in top of line variants.

I may sound a little confused, but i am in search of a car with good performance and tension free ownership rather than looks and features. Thanks in advance.

However, kind note that
> Rear Seat Legroom is slight compact
> Clutch is on stiffer note
> Suspension is slight on firm side than other cars in competition

So suggest to have test drive and experience.
If these cons do not bother you in terms of Space, Stiff clutch and Suspension then Ecosport Ambiente Diesel basis good features even in base trim has in all to impress on.

No one can guarantee same. Like the way General Motors Quit India - it was a surprise

Ford low sales is definite a concern, but the way they doing high exports from Plants in India - i dont think there would be any reason to quit
