Resolved Drastic fall in the performance of my car while in CNG mode

Hi everybody, I am Ashish from Mumbai, seeking some help.

Actually, I got my Zen Estilo installed with a Lovato CNG kit 1.5 years back. Till now it was ok, but now I noticed a drastic fall in the performance of my car while in CNG mode. As soon as the rpm goes down, the engine stops, as a result, I have to keep the accelerator pressed.

If the roads are clear and the car is in proper motion, then everything is fine, even with the AC on. But as soon as I slow down, the engine stops. Sometimes it works fine, but whenever I switch on the AC, engine stops with zerks. As I live in Mumbai, Its almost impossible to find the clear roads, especially in peak hours, Its mandatory to move on USS (Ultra Slow Speeds :( ) . I consulted a few CNG workshops, and the maruti service centre also, but in vain.

So, I would really appreciate if somebody please help me deal with this. I am desperately looking for help. Atleast just suggest me any good CNG docter.

Do you see 'Engine Light' in Odometer as on when your car slows down or with jerks ?
Was it installed by Authorized Maruti Service Center ? If yes - take Maruti Suzuki in loop, call up customer care and report the issue - write a string mail with details of your visits and problem still recurrent.

Also - have you got CNG low pressure filter cartridge replaced. Its required to be replaced @ every 20,000 Kms - if its not done - it takes away the charm of driving CNG car and leads to continual loss in performance.- It costs around 1500 bucks and is a definite recommendation for replacement

Another cartridge is CNG Reducer filter cartridge which is recommended for change every 40,000 kms - it also impact the performance of CNG Car

Also Get the
> CNG Kit Wiring Checked, could be a simple loosened issue also
> Timing Setting - which your CNG Kit Station can tune up by connecting his computer
> Most Probably - it seems Tuning Up Settings should do a change.
> Get your Car Air Filter Replaced. Also advise for Throttle Body & Spark Plug Cleaned up well too. Its ideal to get Air Filter & Spark Plug cleaned every 6 month and get a replacement as per Owner Manual for a CNG Car
> Check for replacement of CNG low pressure & CNg reducer filter cartridge replacement (@ 20K & 40K kms) interval respectively.

Get it inspected !!

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. I really appreciate your efforts. Well, as far as the spark plug is concerned, I got it replaced 2-3 months back, i do noticed a little increase in the performance, but nothing like mentioning.Anyways, I will definitely try rest of your suggestions now and revert back. I hope it works. Once again thanks a lot for your kind co-operation. It really matters to me.

I am also facing same problem . I have alto 800 with open loop CNG
My car stops as soon as release accelerator

I also see the same Issue, what Ashish has Mentioned above. I'm going to CNG fitting guy & have him check the Settings

I Have Honda City type 2 2003 model, i have recently Installed CNG kit 2 months ago but now from 8 days i have starting Trouble with Cng and not on Petrol, also there is power drop problem occurs suddenly in running, and when i runs it on Petrol and switches to CNG it couldn't Accelerating, i have changed Spark plugs and clean air filter also..my CNG boy couldn't Recognise problem, my some friends saying that it should be Problem of cng kit coil... please give me suggestions

Hi, When my CNG Maruti Wagon R was put on the AC mode, the vehicle has off mode. The problem did not occur when it petrol mode running time. Which part of my vehicle does not function? Please give a suitable reply from your side.

Hey Ashish,
Have you figured out the solution to issue in RPM drop as recently I got my Ford fitted with CNG. Everything is working fine except this problem which is creating my driving a hell.
It's new installation so most of the admin advices won't apply on me and rest I have replaced air filter & spark plugs.

But no benefit
