Interested in buying Nissan Magnite. Can you provide me NCAP Safety Rating and will it prove to be as safe as 4 star cars like Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon
Admin Accepted Answer
Greetings !!

Nissan Magnite is due for launch and car is not yet tested by NCAP - Global NCAP / ASEAN NCAP or any other NCAP rating agency as far
However, some important parameters

> Based on CMF-A Platform as what used in Renault Kwid, Triber
> Nissan Magnite available with Dual Airbags, ABS with EBD and also gets in ESP, Traction Control and Dynamic Assist in Turbo Variants
> Also gets High Speed Warning Alert at both 80 Kmph speed and 120 Kmph speed
> Gets useful Tyre Pressure Monitoring System and 360 Degree camera in top of line XV Premium Model

and car could just be passed in crash test norms as what specified by Government as then only allowed to sell

But, considering fact about
> Renault Kwid which performed rather in dismal rating in Global NCAP and ASEAN NCAP
> Cars like S Presso which too are what cleared by Government for sale, but came out with flying colours of 0 Star in Global NCAP Safety Rating

Nissan Magnite Safety yes is a big question as the car not tested at Global Level and Nissan other cars
> Datsun Redi Go - scored 1 star rating
> Datsun Go - scored 0 Star Rating
> Kwid - crash tested 4 times and scored 0 star rating 3 times, and 1 star in 4th time

Although i understand that when you spending in several Lakh - its important to have safety rating too in front of you, but the only way forward for it is to wait if indeed OEM proactively gets safety test done in ASEAN / Global / Latin / Euro NCAP , else in lack of same one can always choose in proven safety cars with 4 star rating for higher confidence aspect

Hope should help !!

Don't expect NCAP rating of magnite anytime sooner, Nissan is not at a very good stage in India, I don't think Nissan will send magnite to NCAP for crash test before the official commercement of sale begin. Also don't just go blindly with features it provides, rather do an area check how is be the after sales service in your area I mean distance b/w your house and showroom/service center. Gaganji has explained the same in the forum. Do check that.

Considering the fact and as mentioned in earlier post, Nissan will not go for test in near time.
Even I am also looking for it but waiting for its test results. At least it should have 3 or 3+.

Otherwise the car is good (on the basis of reviews on you tube). More practical than unnecessary things.
