Your car is quiet less driven - considering ageing
Its 31,000 Kms in 8 yrs and as you mentioned car condition is good.

But you have not mentioned model variant - Was it 90 PS Power or with I-Vtec Engine
Considering New Honda City Pricing and depreciation, expect :-
> Depreciation - 60% (Calculated on Pricing of New City Base Model)
> Further Cut - 15% on Depreciated value due to major facelifts (if old 90 PS Engine) or 10% (if IVtec Engine)

The value is calculated basis this :- Depreciation Tool

If the car is well maintained - expect the price closer to
> Rs. 2.7 - 2.75 Lakh for Honda City 90 PS
> Rs. 2.9 Lakh for Honda City i-Vtec

As a seller - if you getting 2.75 Lakh or more Honda City 90 PS or close to 3 Lakh for I-Vtec for 2006 Model with 31,000 Kms - its a descent price to go in for.

I am a returning NRI interested in buying second Honda City IVTEC engine 2015 of good condition. Please suggest me what should be an average price and what precautions I should look for. Whether you suggest diesel or petrol one.
Thanks
Sanjeev

@ Sanjeev Prasad

Unless your running going to be on higher side of 20K Kms+ - in that case consider in Diesel
Else, Will recommend Petrol one
