Hi Gagan sir,

I am Anand from Bangalore and planning to buy a car for my family, I am a first time car buyer.

As I am a fist time car buyer I thought of buying a second hand car, but after checking all available best sources of buying second hand cars including True value, I felt understanding a car condition is really difficult and also the cost is really high if its in good condition and also risk is also high.

So I thought of going for a new car and decided on a budget of upto 9 lakhs on road with EMI options. But I am not able to decide on which car would be best for me.

My requirements in a car is.

My first requirement would be safety.
I am a Calm driver, want to use car weekend trips and visiting my parents.
I will not be using it in day to day life (like for office commute) or city commute.
I am thinking of buying a car because My parents live in my hometown which is around 600KM from bangalore, so I would want to visit them occasionally.
I live with my brother and we both are married so would be traveling with them as well. Which means we will be 4 people travelling around 600 KM (one side) occasionally.
Currently we dont have kids, so it will be four people traveling most of the time, but occasionally my father or mother visit my house in bangalore so that time we may need to accommodate 5 people at least.
My major concern would be safty due to which I am not considering Swift or Swift Dezire.
I am thinking to Keep this car for longer duration, I am not worried of resell value.

My major usage will be for highway and state highways (not so good roads) As per my knowledge on currently available cars I shortlisted these cars
Tata Altroze.
Tata Nexon (entry level or max XM)
Ford Freestyle.
Grand i10 Nios.
i20 sportz (But Currently not available in any dealers)
Toyota Glanza (But safety is a concern)
I and my family like Altroze but after seeing most of the issues on youtube and comments from people I am afraid of buying tata Altroze or nexon.

I have checked and Ford Freestyle but I did not like the Interior as its completely black and interior build quality is also not upto expectation.

I am now really confused, it would be great if you can help me decide on this.

Greetings !!

Well Tata as Manufacturer makes reasonably impressive products with build, space, features and advanced safety of ESP, Traction Control available in Nexon. Highway dynamics are good.

But yes from
> Reliability Perspective
> After sales service experience

they still need a lot to catch up with what the kind of benchmark set by Maruti, Hyundai, Honda, Toyota
I have already made a detailed video explaining same aspect

As i understand, you seek
> Reliability
> Safety
> Spacious Family Car for use in budget of 9 Lakh On Road Price

As you have already experienced some cars and shared observation and basis inputs as shared, recommended to check out these 2 Models and have test drives too

1. Honda Jazz VMT Petrol:
Is a car for relaxed drive. 1.2 Litre Engine with
> Impressive Suspension, can help you cruise on highway and slight bad road at ease
> Superior Build and based on same platform as what 4th Gen city and previous generation Jazz as what sold in International Market
> Superior Space infact the best in hatch segment and large boot space too
> Very reliable and proven product with 3 yeat standard warranty and available with extended warranty for next 2 years

and also features in Jazz VMT which comes with all essential safety, styling, convenience feaures
Check out Honda Amaze VMT

2. Maruti Vitara Brezza Lxi: Although again base Model but
> Build on Suzuki Global platform and scored 4 star in safety crash test
> Maruti 1.5 Litre Engine is highly reliable and even powerful with slight fun too
> Can expect competitive service cost, reliable product and peace of mind ownership
> Despite again the base Model, loaded with impressive features and can add wheel cover or alloys in price difference left. What it lacks is adjustable head restraints - however can get same too, pl refer - Maruti Vitara Brezza Lxi Headrest

Check out features in Vitara Brezza Lxi

Am sure wont be disappointed with either
May check out.

Thank you for the reply sir.

I will visit dealer to check on these two cars.

Both the cars you suggested are good, but comparatively both the cars back passenger seats are not comfortable in entry level models (like no headrest and arm rests). As you suggested I will ask dealership in Brazza if they can provide back headrest as an accessory.

However Hyundai Aura, Honda Amaze and Ford Aspire might come in my budget, all have comfortable passenger seats.

How are these cars and if good, then which variant will be good for me.
