I want to buy a new car as my current hatchback has become old , the new Car Requirement is,

2. With good back seat comfort i.e. Should give luxury ride comfort for family

General info,
a) good for city + highways both
b) budget from 6 lakh to 12 lakh
C) large size not preferable, as 40% usage in bangalore traffic
d) i am safe driver, max 100 km/h on highways
e) not particular about petrol / diesel.. once corona is over -within city ride will be 400km/month ( outstation kms depends)
f) we are family of 5

H) dont care much for features etc
i) i am from karnataka - Bangalore/ Hubli

Greetings !!

Considering requirement for Bangalore - which despite of having highest road tax has one of bad road design with raised speed breakers and heavy traffic. Anyhow - you got a wide budget range but the best recommended one basis need as specified are

For Manual Transmission
Maruti S Cross Zeta
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/newcar/S-Cross.jpg
> Comes with Recline Rear seat to adjust in best angle and yes space is wide enough
> Legroom Space is reasonable impressive
> 180 mm Ground clearance is impressive to take on raised speed breaker of Bangalore
> S Cross (on lines of brezza is based on modified international platform) and has the best build across Maruti Suzuki range of cars. Even available with all 4 Disc brakes and impressive on braking experience
> Light Steering, Light clutch, Good Ergonomics and decent handling makes it a reasonable choice from drive perspective
> Maruti Suzuki 1.5 Litre Engine has reasonable impressive low end and is best for driver who do relaxed drive
> Although - features wont matter much, but S Cross Zeta is loaded with impressive features to offer a good comfort and experience. Details - S Cross Zeta
> Maruti Suzuki assured reliability, Good After Sales Service experience and yes service cost are under control too
> Lastly - is not bad in fuel efficiency too. With Smart Hybrid - fuel efficiency of 12 to 13 Kmpl in city can be expected in Manual Transmission

What you possibly wont like
> All Black Interiors - so may feel slight claustrophobic in dark
> Rear Middle row lacks head restraint and slight raised - so best suited for kid or youth

Alternative buy - Hyundai Creta Ex
> With even bright interiors
> Yes is impressive too but i heard that there is some kind of limited production which is what happening of base Ex trim and due to same waiting gone in most of cities to 2021 deliveries of Ex - possibly a price hike can happen
> Soft suspension for plush in city ride
> Will love in features, styling and impressive in city ride dynamics

But only issue is availability

For Automatic Transmission
Well Honda Jazz V CVT Automatic is an excellent choice
> CVT Automatic makes it utmost comfortable to drive and when ever you feel slight fun has paddle shifters
> Lot of Space in Cabin - impressive one as the best across hatchback segment
> Although 165 mm ground clearance - but suspension is lot better in Jazz and should not scrape in body.
> Sturdy Build Quality, Good Steering, Feel feedback
> A no-nonsense car for those who love relaxed drive, build quality, good suspension, comfort, space and yes Honda impeccable reliability

Downside
> Jazz is updated in International markets almost 2 years back, still we getting old model
> Again lacks headrest on rear center seat and other 2 headrest are fixed one - so not best suited for tall passenger

So, recommend you to experience in this way
1. Test Drive in Honda Jazz CVT Automatic - first
2. Test Drive in Maruti S Cross Petrol - second
3. Test dirve in Hyundai Creta 1.5 Manual and check for waiting period

If you seek Automatic - Jazz is impressive
If you seek Manual - S Cross Zeta / Creta Ex can be top picks - but as referred Creta ex needs to be available as biug question

Hope should help !!

Wow thanks Gagan ji. Mine was supposed to be the same question. The requirements are the same. I am looking for an automatic. But I have a doubt. Should I opt for Honda Jazz CVT or wait for new i20/Tata Altroz automatic? And if I can extend my budget to 13 lakhs, can I go for Ciaz automatic? Thanks in advance.
