Sir, Already booked Ford Ecosport Diesel but now confused in Kia Sonet. Whats your view on shall i continue with Ecosport or shift booking to Kia Sonet

See both Compact SUV are what

Engine, Suspension & Drive
> Powerful in 1.5 Litre Diesel Engine with 100 PS Power and 205 NM Torque in Ecosport and while in Sonet is with 100 PS Power and 215 NM Torque

> While Ecosport gets Kick in from 1500 rpm onwards, Sonet felt like kicking in from 1800 rpm - so power delivery at lower end is marginally better in Ecosport and can give slight fun

> Both Cars comes with Stiif Suspension set up, but Ecosport is possibly having the stiffest suspension among sub 4 meter Urban SUV Cars. Sonet is manageable on sharp speed breakers in city and actually suspension tuned that despite been firm can glide on bad roads without giving too much sharp bump

> Clutch is also stiffer in Ecosport and has limited space for driver side footrest which is what a plus point as Sonet Diesel clutch is relative light and has good amount of space to relax in left foot

> Steering feedback is impressive in both SUV Cars where Sonet steering is light in city and gains weight and good cornering dynamic, but Ecosport steering is marginally better in experience especially on higher speed

> Engine NVH Levels are good, but here Ecosport has again an edge - theres insulation under hood where it reduces noise from engine at high rpm. To disclaim - Sonet despite of no insulation under bonet is impressive but at higher speed Ecosport has relative better NVH

Overall
> Ecosport Handling and steering feedback on higher speed is a plus point and has superior Engine NVH. For some one whos a performance enthusiast - drive on highway, high speed response and seek fun right even at lower RPM will love Ford Ecosport

> Kia Sonet on other hand is impressive with relative much light clutch, more space to relax in left foot, manageable stiffer suspension for city usage - so for day to day city usage drive its Kia Sonet which wins ahead against Ecosport

Rear Seat Space Comfort
See - it needs to understand that both are Compact SUV Cars
Width is best for 2 Adults on rear and at max a small child. actually without a child - these are better as 4 seater and use center seat armrest as what available in top of line 2 Variants to enjoy the most
Headroom is good and ingress and egress is easier

But difference is
> Ecosport has marginally better under-thigh support but car is slight tight on rear seat legroom
> Sonet has marginally better legroom but car has relative upright seats and under-thigh support is strict average

So - thats a key difference in between both the cars

Cost of Ownership, Maintenance
Fuel efficiency in real world condition would be close similar and although varies a lot basis driving style, but
> 15 Kmpl in city
> 20 Kmpl in highway

would be a descent expectation

For scheduled service cost, pl refer
a) Ford Ecosport Service Cost
b) Kia Sonet Service Cost

Build, Safety
Both Cars comes with Reasonable impressive build quality
As what door panels feels sturdy
However, difference is
> Kia Sonet GT Line is the only variant which is available with 6 Airbags, ESP, Traction Control for fully loaded safety while lower up variants gets ABS EBD Brake Assist with Dual Airbags and Tyre pressure Monitoring system in higher up models

> On other hand Ford Ecosport Titanium Plus, S Model is what equipped with 6 Airbags, ESP, Traction Control.
Although official prices yet to be announced but most likely Sonet HTX Plus Diesel is what would be priced at Ecosport Titanium Plus range and lacks advanced safety of side & curtain airbag. Even GT Line likely would be pitched at a premium considering safety

Recommended to wait for official prices which are what due for launch on 18th September

Features
Here what Sonet will lead in to offer very best like
> Bose sound speaker system for best in class sound clarity
> Ventilated front seats for utmost comfort
> Air Purifier with Virus scan
> Advanced Voice command operated feature like power window up, down and other functions
> Segment largest 10.25 Inch Touchscreen with good user interface, Ford India provides flyaudio touchscreen in lower variants which lacks the experience which otherwise offered in Sonet. Only Ecosport Sync3 as what offered in S Model matches the level experience as in 10.25 Inch touchscreen in Sonet
and some other add on to deliver superior experience

Interiors, Exteriors
Although is subjective - but
> From Exteriors looks Ecosport has more SUV Kind look
> From Interiors - Sonet looks more upmarket feels

So, Perspective is - Conclusion
> If seek highway dynamics, more fun to drive ride and handling on higher speed, power delivery from 1800 rpm, SUV kind look design and if specific consideirng Titanium Plus diesel then will get better safety features as against Sonet HTX Plus. Also has better under-thigh support for rear seat passengers

> If seek day to day usage with relative not as stiff suspension, light clutch, relative better space to relaxed left foot, more intuiitive features with premium experience in cabin and slight better legroom space - Kia Sonet

I recommend to wait for 18th September to check out prices and then take a final call
