Sir I want to purchase a car in August/September 2020. I have picked the following cars
BREZZA LXI
DZIRE VXI
I20 MAGNA/SPORTZ
NEXON XM
NIOS SPORTZ
SWIFT VXI

My budget is around 8-8.5 lakhs.
Monthly running maximum 400 to 500 KMs.

I want to buy BREZZA because it enhance the social status but someone told me that in future you will be unhappy with mileage.
Build quality of DZIRE also hesitate me to purchase this car.

Again mileage of I20 is a issue and it is also coming in new avatar in new few months.
NIOS is small towards social status.

Feature wise NEXON is good but there is a doubt towards engine and technology.

Please suggest me a car that fulfil my above mentioned requirements. Thanks.

Greetings !!

Here is brief
Maruti Vitara Brezza
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/easyblog_articles/1071/b2ap3_thumbnail_Brezza-Lxi.jpg
> Engine is the heart of car and this is the only car in your shortlisted criteria with 1.5 Litre, 4 cylinder engine
> Impressive 4 Star Safety Rated Car
> Modified on Suzuki Global Platform
> SUV Dynamics, Suspension with bigger 1.5 Litre Engine
> SUV as a Craze factor
> All Standard Safety, Convenience, Infotainment Features

However, yes
> Rear Adjustable head restraint missing from factory fit (although some of the owners in pre facelift Brezza installed in from after-market), but none in new Facelift Model
> Yes Mileage in Petrol SUV would be lower and having 11 Kmpl should be a reasonable expectation from this car in day to day city usage

But if your average monthly running say going to be 400 Km - this wont make much of a difference
As against a car with 20% better fuel efficiency - Brezza will ask for around Rs 500 per month as higher fuel cost. This is not something which should make a difference when meeting other considerations

Do note that you may have to go for
> Wheel Covers
> check out if this missing rear seat head restraint makes a lot of difference, i can share part numbers for rear seat head restraint which someone fitted back in Ldi Model
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/easyblog_articles/1071/Head-restraint-Brezza.jpg

Alternate is Tata Nexon XM
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/Nexon-XE-Side.jpg
Well this car is even superior
> Build Quality with 5 Star Build
> Advanced safety of ESP, Traction Control as USP
> Turbo Petrol Engine with 120 PS Power - howver do note that entire power, torque is in sports mode which is what fun to drive. Eco mode is absolute dull in day to day conditions and city mode although feels okay but not the best. Its sports mode which should be the default one
> Interior Aethetics feels premium and more upmarket over Brezza

However, downside
> Its a turbo petrol engine and there is definite a turbo lag at low RPM
> If you continue to drive in sports mode, mileage can go for a toss
> Suspension is relative stiff and although high speed dynamics are better but due to thick A Pillar and relative stiff suspension - in city ride is not the best
> After sales service is a question in case of Nexon
> Got a 3 cylinder Engine which has marginal vibration as idling

From the cars listed in it - Brezza Lxi and Nexon XM are the pick as betetr value proposition
If care from fuel efficiency perspective and majority of in city drive - Brezza is what a recommended choice

Hope it should help !!

Hi,

In terms of Dzire, well it depeds

Maruti Dzire
> The biggest strength is Fuel Efficiency. Now in imrpoved K Series Dualjet Petrol Engine, Dzire turns out to be most fuel efficiency Sedan and in city drive can deliver in close to 15 Kmpl while on highway can end up with 20 to 22 Kmpl. Its the new benchmark for those who seek the best of mileage
> Yes, Cabin Interiors with Beige, Black theme with Wooden finish and color display in Instrument Cluster feels more upmarket.
> Optimised for rear seat space and comfort. Space is better in Rear Seat
> Drives well, been light weight - Dzire is one among the best for in city drive. Light clutch, sleek gear shift, smooth pickup - can love in Power Performance delivery
> Yes is high on reliability aspect too

The only big con as correctly identified is Safety Aspect: 2 Star safety rating for Swift - expect no different for Dzire too. Although car available with ABS, EBD, Dual Airbags but build quality is what questionable

Hyundai Elite I20
> Styling factor, overall exterior styling, better plastic quality against Dzire makes it more upmarket
> Seating comfort in terms of under-thigh support, lumbar support is better than Dzire
> Scored slight better in safety aspect of 3 Star safety rating (as what I20 sold in Africa) got

But what i lacks in I20
> 1.2 Engine Performance is very linear and no as such excitement in mid range
> Steering feels even more light as against Dzire, somehow Dzire steering feedback is marginally better than I20 on higher speed
> Fuel Efficiency - Where Dzire is the best in Mileage, expect anything around 13 Kmpl to be a descent consideration for I20 Petrol

So, depend on
> If care for Mileage, Better Space, Car with superior pickup and looks superior in Aesthetic perspective - Dzire
> If care for Styling Element, Maximum Usage within city condition under 60 speed, Better plastic quality, Slight better safety - Elite I20

Hope should help !!

Sir, The quality of Body Sheet metal of DZIRE And BREZZA Is same or there is any difference. Is it true that the Body Sheet Metal Quality of DZIRE is too worst and it is like a tin can.

Hello,

Brezza is lot better, its platform based on Suzuki Global platform
Sheet Metal Quality feels lot better in Brezza and S Cross against other Maruti Suzuki cars and car also proved in Global NCAP with 4 star rating

Dzire based on hearect platform with relative light build quality
Somehow - Swift scored just 2 star in safety rating, expect no different from dzire too

For easy understanding :- Global NCAP did crash test and brezza was even stable after 64 kmph test, but Swift failed miserably and marked unstable at that speed.

Having said said - some tin can words are incorrect
Maruti Safety aspect explained clearly in this video - may check

Should help !!

SIR, Between BREZZA LXI And I20 SPORTZ/ MAGNA Which one gives better mileage. If I drive these cars on the speed of 80 to 110 kmph what would be the mileage of both cars. Also city mileage of both cars please.

Hello Vinay,

Mileage is based on number of factors
To derive in best Mileage - 80 Kmph Speed at constant drive can deliver you best mileage
Also, depends on load in car. Say 2 people in car and you taking car from Delhi to Agra on Yamuna Expressway and driving at constant speed of 80 - can attain a mileage of 18 to 20 Kmpl even - which can be higher than ARAI Mileage even in select favorable weather condition without drag.

While if the same car driven with full load and in bumper to bumper traffic - mileage may even possibly be under 10 kmpl too
Still on indicative basis, can state that I20 Petrol can end up been 10% more fuel efficient in back to back on similar road conditions as against Brezza Petrol.

SIR Thickness of Body Metal Sheet of DZIRE (2020) in comparison of Thickness of Body Metal Sheet of DZIRE Second Generation (2012-2016) is EQUIVALENT OR THIN. Also which have more Thickness of Body Metal Sheet DZIRE Or BALENO. Kindly Reply. Thanks.

Hello,

Its not thickness alone which determine safety
Had that bee the case - Scorpio would have never scored 0 in crash test rating or Punto in latest Euro NCAP would have never scored 0
Its the basis of
> Crumple Zone
> Advanced High Strength Steel used
> Chassis Platform with Rigidity
> Safety Features

which determine the safety rating
Old Dzire was designed to meet in Indian crash test norms of 48 kmph, New Dzire meets in 56 kmph crash test norms and certainly a better one

SIR, In daily use at crowded places like market and busy roads thin body metal sheet will create more problems after got scratches and dents compare to thick body metal sheet. Cars with thin body metal sheet will demand more visit to body line workshop for the repair of scratches and dents in comparison of the cars with thick body metal sheet.

Hi Vinay,

Dent happens when there is an impact on Car and yes will get a dent on Maruti Car higher compared to Tata, Ford, Volkswagen
Scratches however can happen on all cars

Having said same - if you seek Build Quality then as referred earlier also, Maruti Vitara Brezza has superior build and better sheet metal quality as against cars like Dzire, Baleno - its worth to consider same

Driving dynamics, 1.5 Litre Petrol Engine - all matters and you will definite end up with a superior product offering from Maruti Suzuki
Hope should help !!

Go to Ford Dealer, just try your hand on Ford Freestyle (You might not have heard about it), I bet you will forget all these Dzire', Baleno, Swift, I20..95 BHP Engine, 120 PS Torque in Petrol and with safety features like Electronic Stability Program, Automatic Rollover Protection, Traction Control, Hill Hold Assist and 6 Airbags in Top Model.. Only issue is less boot space, but believe me you will love the vehicle.. Leave all misconceptions about Ford apart as now Ford is quite affordable in terms of servicing, parts as all are manufactured in India.. You can check the service cost on Ford website.. Once in a year on 10,000 Kms instead of 5000 or 6 months for Maruti.

SIR Between DZIRE VXI And AMAZE S PETROL Which is better. Is it true that Honda will step by step close their car business in next few years in our country.

Hello Vinay,

Nop its all rumor to presume that Honda going to close in and to be honest hearing for first time.
Honda Dealer Owners are at much profitable situation through workshop repairs and Honda as company is profitable too - they wont stop

In terms of Dzire Vxi and Honda Amaze SMT
Key differences are
> Safety - where Amaze leads with 4 star rating
> Suspension - Amaze has soft suspension with low turning radius and best for those seeking a car for in city ride. However on higher speed, highway use wont recommend Amaze too. Steering is slight vague on higher speed
> Interior Aesthetics - Somehow to view Dzire leads with more premium interior aesthetics
> Mileage - Dzire leads in same
> Seating comfort - Again Dzire leads with slight better seating comfort
> Pickup - Dzire leads again with better pickup against rival
> Scheduled Maintenance - Both companies offers product having lower maintenance, but yes dzire can end up with lower spare part prices
> Warranty - Amaze leads with 3 year / unlimited kms warranty and extendable to 5 years with even an edge of Honda anytime warranty applicable from 6th year to 10 year. Dzire comes with 2 year / 40,000 Km standard warranty and extendable to 2+3 year upto 1 Lakh km warranty
> Features - Dzire has marginally higher number of features in Vxi trim as against Amaze SMT

Overall
> If seek - Ownership cost, interior aesthetics, seating comfort, pickup then choose Dzire
> If seek a car for majorly city usage then Amaze leads in safety, low turning radius and dynamics sorted for in city usage

Hope should help !!
