I stay in gurgaon. Mostly City use for office and sometimes family road trips. I am looking for car with on road price around 8 lakh +/-. I have seen many of your videos. I am confused which would be the value for money choice for me. Perticularly not looking for baleno (its the best fit in budget). I am concisering below.
1. Tata Nexon XE with wheel covers, music system, reverse parking camera electrical foldable ORVMs, central locking, fog lamps as retrofit.
2. Amaze VMT.
3. Rapid rider due to 4 years warranty and turbo.
4. Wait for new I20

Also aspire in my mind due to Ford cars are fun to drive.

What would be your suggestion for me any other car from above list is also ok for me. I am first time buyer, with small family of 3 ppl one kid only.

For retrofitting is there any support or centers from your portal?

Thanks in advance, ur support would be most appreciated.

Greetings !!

Although Tata Nexon is a great product with
> Impeccable build quality
> Advanced Safety of ESP

But, as you considering in Nexon XE base model, is there any reason for not considering Vitara Brezza Lxi
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/newcar/Maruti-Vitara-Brezza-Car.jpg
> 1.5 Litre, 4 Cylinder Engine which has superior engine NVH
> Ideal for relaxed drive, as your first car should enjoy in drive response
> Visibility Level lot better than most other cars in segment
> Although not 5 star, but Brezza too is a 4 Star Safety rated and too in Global NCAP rated stable at 64 Kmph speed
> Suspension tuned in for offering good drive and handling dynamics in city, highway
> Descent Feature List - All standard safety, styling, convenience. Am sure you wont need in to retro fit that much.
> Proven Product with High Reliability, Superior after sales service

Only big con is that no factory fit rear seat head restraint. You may have to approach in after-market for fitment of same

In terms of Skoda Rapid Rider - am sure you will love in Skoda Rapid
https://www.mycarhelpline.com/images/newcar/Skoda-Rapid-car.jpg
> Mid range Performance when turbo comes in action
> Full Fledged Sedan
> Impressive Build Quality
> Suspension, Handling
> All Standard Features

and is a super value buy, but somehow Rapid Rider bookings are on hold as of now as number of booking surpass beyond expectation
You may have to wait for Rapid Rider

Also, please note that lot of differences in Rapid and Brezza in driving dynamics and feel as one is a sedan
> Rapid has low seating and slight compact rear seat, while Brezza has raised seating with better legroom, shoulder room
> Rapid comes in Turbo charged Petrol Engine which is more exciting in mid range, Brezza has more Linear Performance
> Been sedan with lower ground clearance - Body roll, Pickup is superior in Rapid but Brezza comes with raised GC and wider tyres which has its own advantage of taking on bad roads at ease

I wont recommend Amaze VMT when Rapid Rider is there

For Elite I20 Next Gen - can be worth a call but somehow expecting that I20 1.2 Litre would be what available in price bracket and Turbo edition can be slight expensive. so you have to factor in that point

Overall
> Brezza Lxi
> Skoda Rapid Rider Edition

can be better buy for need and requirement specified.
May test drive rapid and if appeal wait for Rapid Rider edition bookings to be open. Else Brezza Lxi can be near perfect buy for need, requirement.

Hope should help !!

Thanks for quick response.

I had other impression for Nexon as it has tourbo charged petrol engine with more power and better torque figures at lower rpm.

Also Nexon comes with hill assist and turn assistance. That's why I was thinking of Nexon.

As per your advice I will also check brezza for test drive.

It is sad that rapid bookings have stopped. It was best deal it seems.

Hello Amod,

Nexon yes has Turbo Petrol but comes in 3 Modes
> Eco : Which is what very dull in day to day city use and only recommended when driving on relaxed way in highway
> City : Better one, but still has turbo lag
> Sports : Thats the best to unleash the real potential of Nexon but comes at cost of fuel efficiency

Yes undoubtedly Nexon Turbo is a
> Safe Car
> Fun to driive in Mid range
> High Speed Handling

But
> Suspension feels more stiffer in Nexon against Brezza
> A Pillar is thicker, rear visibility not the best in Nexon
> Service Cost of Brezza would be relative economical against Nexon

Also, somehow 4 Cylinder Engine of Brezza has lower Engine NVH against Nexon

Suggest to have a test drive planned of Nexon first and drive in all 3 models - eco, city, sports and observe drive on
> Bad city roads
> Drive in City, Eco Mode

then back to back Brezza in similar condition and compare features too in base XE Model of Nexon and Lxi Model of Brezza
Am sure you will observe in the point put in perspective

Hope it help !!

You can cosider ford freestyle also. Its titanium
Plus petrol has traction control, esp, hill launch etc with 6 air bags in 8.35 lakhs onroad. Its really fun to drive. I was also confused with nexon xe. But finally chose freestyle. And i chose freestyle over baleno, i20 and altroz. Turbo engines claimed to be more fuel efficient but in real world its not like that if city drive is more. Nexon xe with reverese camera, alloy wheels and power window is also a good option. But ur waranty will be void. Even if they say plug and play.

Thank for help, I will test drive both cars. Brezza seems a complete package also with less retrofit requirements.

Dear team,

As per your advise i drove Brezza for test drive. Engine feels smooth and well refined. you were right, it is better than Nexon.

Recently i also checked one video from Mr. Gagan Modi regarding most powerful cars.

Here i liked all suggestions such as Venue S turbo, Polo TSI, Aura, XUV 300 for petrol options.

I am also thinking to stretch a budget little bit and conciser Venue S turbo or Polo Highline TSI. XUV300 is too expensive as less features and Aura and venue are almost in same price.

Would you suggest if it is good decision to concider Venue or shall i wait for Kia Sonet also.

regards,
Amod

Hello Amod,

Initially you asked for rapid rider too, at that point rapid rider bookings were stopped
Now Rapid rider plus been introduced at 7.99 Lakh with some enhancements like Multimedia Touchscreen AVN with Android Auto, apple car play, details of Skoda Rapid Rider Plus

If you care to exceed budget and consdering Polo Highline
> Rapid Rider plus a better choice against Polo TSI
> Alternately Vento Comfortline comes with high discounts to tune of 1.6 Lakh which brings down ex-showroom price to a great extent. Final on road price of Vento Comfortline would be higher than rapid rider to tune of rs 50000

Venue S Turbo
> Descent choice power packed car, would love in ride, handling with better suspension, brakes, performance with clean pickup
> All Standard Safety, Styling, convenience features
> Only con is slight compact rear seat space, else a reasonable impressive car
> In drive, response will find to be better than Brezza too
> Hyundai reliability is second to none and service cost are competitive too

Kia Sonet too will differentiate and if you thinking for Venue S Turbo then Kia Sonet would definite needs a consideration - due for launch soon

Overall Recommendatioin
> If care for Performance car in Sedan : Rapid Rider Plus / Vento Comfortline to be a better pick
> If care for SUV - would be worth a wait for Sonet and yes Venue Turbo is impressive against Brezza Petrol

Hope it help !!
