Greetings !!

Well, its 100% discretion to you basis your sentiments and emotitions on whether to buy a brand having its roots in China or not
But from Passenger Car perspective - there is nothing questionable about MG Motor reliability perspective

Manufactured introduced 2 cars
> Hector
> Zs EV

in Indian Passenger Car Market in last 1 year and the car set standards with
> Space, Features, Looks
> First in Segment to offer Panoramic Sunroof
> Voice Enabled Command System from aspiration perspective

To let know
> MG Motor is not importing Hector as CBU, but rather has Manufacturing set up in India
> Yes has roots from China with Parent Company as SAIC - Shangai Automotive Industry Corporation
> The Plant, Staff Employed is majority (95%+) Indian only and MD of MG Motor is also an Indian
> As the same practice seen with other brands too - MG Motor yes has parts imported from China, on line with other Manufacturers who do import from China too

As a brand - MG Motor is offering 5 Year Warranty and 5 Year Labor Free Service and the same may possibly be extended to Hector Plus too

See - point is that of your process
> If from Patrotism and has a strong point of view in which you seek a Domestic Home Grown Manufacturer from India - then yes you may possibly wait for Tata Gravitas which is also a reasonable value proposition as seen in Auto Expo but would likely be available as 6 Seater and yes Suspension, Handling dynamics as what seen in Harrier can be on same standard in Gravitas too

> However, if you have apprehensions from Reliability factor only that MG as a China backed brand is reliable or not, well basis recent data available of 1 year with close to 25000 Cars sold - there is nothing which should be apprehensive for

In Terms of Banning by Governent
Well there were Chinese apps which were what blocked by Government of India
MG has
> Manufacturing set up in India
> Manufacture Car for Indians
> Has Plans of close to 3000 crore Investment in India
> Supported in Covid with Ventilators
> Job Opportunity for Indians

i dont see any reason why the brand would be banned

Hope it helps and answer your apprehension.

When you have better alternative to MG hector available why to worry for this Chinese.

May the employees to MG are indian but the theory applies same as you are buying a mobile phone now.
Only one funda, if it's Chinese then look for a better alternative and when it's available then go for it.

Don't go so much in detail that whether the employees are indian or not.
Once it is Chinese then a big profit is definitely going to China even your indian employees work how hard.
